He's got a decent finish on him when he's in the mood. Sadly he seems too rare that he gets into those positions.

He makes a lot of runs but when the majority of your team is programmed to pass backwards and your best passer is out on the left wing, the runs end of being redundant

As an insurance, you have Billy so if an absolute crisis hits, you’re not reliant on an untried kid.

Alongside this he plays regularly for the U21s to share his guidance and knowhow with the upcoming players and uses this to transition onto the coaching staff.

No it isn’t. You’re looking at it from the wrong angle.

It’s exactly what Owen Coyle used to do in order to practically being on some of the younger players.

I’m not saying he’d gets relegated to u21s. I’m saying he uses it as a means to support coaching the young lads.

He could probably play a bit in cup games to give others a rest too.

If we’re signing Sharp, let’s have a look at Michael Brown. Our Padel team would be immense

He'd be next to useless and at best goal hang a bit as a late, desperate substitute but that's all Danny Ings provided last season stuck as fourth choice striker. If Billy would be part of the coaching set up as well it's not a terrible idea to include him in the squad, as a player only, no chance.
