There are so many memories, and good times, he has given us.
I’ll always be grateful to him.
In an age of players kissing the badge and not giving a toss, it was so refreshing to see someone on the pitch who really cared, and made sure the other players around him cared.
Truly, one of our own, and we may never see his like again in a red and white shirt.
Thanks for the memories Bill, and good luck with your next journey In football.

Seen many a Blades hero come and go. It is what it is. Still feel slightly gutted though tonight knowing King Billy is moving on. He had the career that most Blades lads growing up aspired to and we could relate to his obvious joy and passion that he showed for our club. So it stings when it's time for him to move on.

Probably my favourite ever Blade. Incredibly delighted that it worked out for him when he came back again under Adkins and he was arguably the biggest reason for our rise ever since Wilder came in, to today.

He’s obviously lived all of our dreams and we’ll be incredibly lucky to get another like him.

A sad day and an an end of an era for a real legend of the club. If he continues playing I hope he can carry on banging them. Hope we see him back at the lane in some capacity when he hangs up his boots.

Sad day for the Club, sad day for the player and a sad one for us fans because we were denied the opportunity to give him the send off he deserves. The Club haven't dealt with this properly imo and no amount of tributes on social media disguises that fact.

Natural goal scorers who score 20 plus a season and are capable of turning defeat into victory within an instant are a rare breed. You never really appreciate them until they're gone. You only have to look at BS 's goal montage to see what a very special player he was. I've been lucky to witness four in my lifetime at the Lane, Woodward, Edwards Deane and Sharp. Billy is different to the others in that he is a lifelong Blade and he lived the dream we all wanted to experience.

Wherever he goes he will continue to score goals. Its been a pleasure watching him and I sincerely hope he returns to the Club in some capacity when he hangs his boots up.
