I don’t think you can teach it but there’s certainly an argument to say it comes with or is at least refined by experience billy at 25 isn’t as good a player as he is now his understanding of what a defender is going to do is second to none.

yes agreed - fans should watch that goal and just Billy, not the defence splitting pass to McG - Billy pulls 2 yards off the defender and crucially is behind the defender, so he has created the time and space to get a run on the defender even before the ball comes into the 6 yard box.

Quite exceptional centre forward play and it ended up being a classic centre forward goal.

It's that good an example, it should be in a manual !!

There was a chance at the end, when McGoldrick managed to pull clear at the far post and get onto the end of the cross. The only reason it happened, is that Sharp seeing what happening, looked around and made a run across the defender who was trying to pull away to cover McG. its not assist or a key pass, but the amount ofchances and goals, that come our way, because of Billy awareness off the ball. I always feel, even in games when he cant get onto the ball or sometimes his touch is too heavy, he is always creating smg for us.
