Overall play, fantastic. An assist to his name for Sammon's first yesterday, but he should have had one himself too. He needs a goal for his confidence and then they'll come. He's quicker than he was, he takes the ball and runs with it, he sets other people up. He's evolved his game much much more than I thought - maybe it's the standard he's playing at but he's so much more than a 6 yard box poacher now.
Maybe he's trying too hard? It'd be nice to see him get the monkey off his back against Blackpool.

And if we can get Sammon firing, he's someone who no defender in this league will want to face. He's big, tough, quick and holds the ball up and links it very well. If he's adding goals to his game, he will be the perfect all rounder for League One. Think Wilbraham for Bristol last year, hardly the best at putting the ball in the back of the net? Then last year put 20 in. Maybe it's about finding a level he can gain some confidence.

Got to hold my hands up. I thought the signing of Sammon would be a total flop. I was very very wrong by the early signs.

In the transfer area, really hope the injury to Collins means we press the Turner deal and pursue it quicker.
McEveley isn't bad at left back but he isn't a good enough centre back. We might survive against the likes of Blackpool but I'd rather we didn't have to, get Turner in and get him and Edgar together to give them some game time.

Oh, how nice it is to attack away from home.

He will get off the mark this weekend. Che, Connor and Billy will be too much for Blackpool.

Always scares me when a side with that type of away record comes to the Lane. We're the masters of the shock result.
Don't think I'm that worried now we have a manager who lets the opposition worry about us though... Should be a cakewalk.

Im really not convinced he's any quicker. Remember when Ched dropped to league one, he looked like he was much faster. I suspect its just the slouches in this league making him appear faster. As for goals, I would not panic yet. He's playing well and as an experienced striker, I'm sure he's confident the goals will come in time.

Billy Sharp's league appearances and goals for United: 56 appearances, 8 goals, or 0.14 per game
Billy Sharp's league appearances and goals for everyone else: 274 appearances, 128 goals, or 0.46 per game.

Remember Crewe last season? Bottom of the league and hadnt won a game since 1432.

I think we'll be too much going forward for Blackpool, hope I'm right.

Sharp will get his first goal soon I reckon, hopefully its right infront of the kop this weekend

Think the best thing with new signings is not to make your mind up about a players till you have seen them play ten games, whatever anyone says on Twitter and Fackbook .

Only matter of time before he bags his first. Like has been said above his all round play has been first class.

To see Adams sharp and sammon running at defenders is exciting ! That front 3 will get 60 between them if they all stay fit for the season.

How did the song go last night... We have the best attack in the world :D

I hope so he's in my Top Goalscorer acca, and currently the only one not off the mark.

I haven't seen him play in the league myself, hopefully will get time to very soon,

but i have heard good things, keep on doing what your doing Billy and the goals will come.

He's lost too much weight - lost his scoring powers.

Seriously: 25 goals+ this season for Billy, barring injury nailed on.

Yes it's scary up front
Them Seasiders will be all at sea Saturday .
How do you stop that trio?
On the rampage Saturday !!

Billy was magnificent last night, running the channels and linking with Connor Sammon. Their interplay midway through the second half was almost sublime. However, Billy and also Che were not fully match fit, and for the last 10 minutes (including the 4 minutes of added time) quite a number of Blades were absolutely shattered. Thankfully the Posh players were too.

This clearly was brought about by the two injuries very early in the match, but it is something to be mindful of.

A great night though!

Quite a number of Blades were absolutely shattered... But not Baxter ... Now that is a shock - can't remember the last goal he scored in open play - and definitely not a late sealer. Can't be a bad sign can it?

It's like déjà vu reading this thread. Didn't billy struggle to score previously when he was here, despite working hard and getting the chances.

If I was Adkins all I'd say to Billy is "for gods sake, compose yourself in front of goal"

Oh oh oh oh oh oh
We have the best strike force in the world
Connor Sammon and Che
Billy Sharp and Jose
And Diego De Girolamoooooo!

Excellent stuff

I would agree but at the moment his general play is 10xbetter than it used to be. He's running, holding up, putting others in scoring positions and drawing defenders to him.

The goals will come but at the moment it's not a confidence thing as he is playing with a lot of confidence.

I don't care if he never scores again if he keeps playing how he is doing. Outstanding

Nail straight into the head. He gave a complete performance against Chessie and by the sounds of it against Posh last night too. Against Chessie he pulled their CB's out of position, played off their shoulder and opened up space for Adams. We were a nightmare for them to defend against.

He's a fair better playing than what he was last time around from what I've seen. Stronger, great touch and linking up well. Was a bit of a headless chicken then but now seems a more complete forward. The goals will come no doubt
