They don't seem to click together. Maybe Leons not up to speed yet but somehow it doesn't seem to gel.

They need Chapman and Duffy on the wings.

More chance of seeing the queens tits than seeing Sharp n Clarke forming an effective partnership.

When Clarke came on, Billy went wide left !!!

Role on January

UTB

But Bolton, Rochdale, Southend and Millwall they were wank together and there were calls to drop Sharp.

Done comes in along side Sharp, Sharp is banging in the goals and we've gone from bottom to 2nd.
Not denying that, but Clarke has got himself fit and trimmed down, two cameo's since then have been at two ends of the spectrum. Perhaps we give them time... There will be games where the partnership works, others where it doesn't...

In the first few matches they weren't played as conventional front duo. Clarke was playing a bit behind Sharp in a 4-2-3-1 and proved ineffective at linking play. Done struggled on the left and Duffy hadn't quite settled in either. Clarke ended up doing target man stuff, while Sharp had a slow start to the season.

We have changed it now though, and Wilder has decided the 3-5-2 is the way to go at the moment. The back three (whoever we play) looks strong, Coutts and Fleck are great in possession, Duffy adds creativity from a central role and the wing backs are decent. It is a different side that the returning Clarke is challenging for a spot in.

We just have to assess what happens when Wilder eventually gives him a start. It will happen sooner or later. Done's lack of goals is concerning, but we don't know how we'll cope without his work rate, pressing and movement. A different player type will tweak things and change certain dynamics of the team. At worst it could mean our pressing game won't be so effective; Coutts and Fleck will have to cover more space defensively, chase more, drop deeper. How will that affect their attacking impact? Clarke won't be making as many runs as Done, how will that loss of movement affect things? Will opposition defences deal more comfortably with two strikers not really best known for their pace and movement?

There are many potential benefits as well and in Wilder we have a tactically astute manager who will take everything into consideration, assess if it's working and make new changes if required.

Just incase it's been missed..........

CLARKE AND SHARP DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!

Spelt out for you Mr Wilder....

C L A R K E... A N D.....S H A R P..... D O E S N T.... W O R K!

Both Sharp and Clarke have had plenty of chances to score. . . .Poor finishing I would say.

I've never understood the old "Sharp and Clarke can't play together" argument. It's rarely ever happened. Seems to me that it's just something that the pub pundits like to say in order to sound like they have some sort of footballing insight.

I think they'll struggle together due to lack of mobility. Done creates space for Sharpe and other players. I see Clarke more as an impact sub like against Chesterfield.

We need a striker urgently, Wilder has made some good signings but another striker is a must in JTW!

I don't even blame either of them, they just aren't compatible. Maybe it's time to give Lavery a chance next to Sharp.

That's a long word!
Is it Welsh!??

I have often disagreed with this view but it's coming to a head now. We are dominating every single game to the point where it's a bit ridiculous that we aren't scoring at least 3 or 4 goals. To only score 4 goals in the past 4 games after having over 60 shots is something I have never witnessed before

It's ridiculous, id really love to see Evans and sharp together, I think they would be awesome together.

Wright is now the only player in the first team group that has not tasted defeat.

If he had been fit and played today then I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have conceded that sloppy goal.

Wright is the glue that makes that 3-5-2 hard to beat.

Duffy is the spark that makes it work
