Biggest match ever ?

Leeds away was arguably even bigger, without that win I think it could well have been Leeds in our position now, we'll never know how the results would have gone had Leeds won but it would have been a hammer blow to lose that game, even a draw was decent for Leeds.

Agreed, every game feels bigger and bigger as we go on but there’s something about that one that will always feel extra special if we do end up pipping them to automatics

Even more so due to all the noise the likes of Bamford, Jansson etc made before the game only to go back on it all afterwards

The Wigan game to stay in the Premiership was bigger. In principle, we get a second shot at Stoke if the Ipswich game goes tits up.

That’s the reason why I’m not as nervous regards Saturday, it’s not a do or die match.

We actually have 3 bites of the cherry.

1: Beat Ipswich we’re promoted.
2: Leeds lose to a fantastic in form Villa side then we’re promoted without even playing.
3: Beat Stoke last match and we’re promoted.

Obviously would prefer option 1, would make a refreshing change to clinch promotion at a packed Bramall Lane in front of our fans.

Good afternoon all. Huddersfield Town fan here. Looks like we're passing like ships in the night. I honestly thought after L666s went 3 points in front before the Wigan game that was it. Reckoned without their propensity for grabbing defeat out of the jaws of victory, and your refusal to give up the fight. Nearly there now, don't take Ipswich and big Coll Quaner too lightly ( the only good game he had for us was the Championship play off 2nd leg semi final at Swillsborough where his 20 minute cameo destroyed them and set up our equaliser - the rest as they say is history - ooooh Foriestieri! ).

Hope to be back soon with congratulations when it's all officially confirmed - good luck!

It's the biggest game for me, and I go back to the TC and Woody days.

It's not just for us fans, as good as it is, and it's not for the club, as much as I love it.

I desperately want it for Chris Wilder, Alan Knill and our squad to get promoted.

The fairy tale dream of Wilder coming back to his home city, and his boyhood club and making Blade Billy Sharp the team Captain, getting out of League 1 at his first attempt, and 100 points, and then finishing a credible 10th in our first season back, and even flirting with top spot.

It's for the lads who have played their heart out this season, the trickery of Mark Duffy, the non-stop running of Bash, the pin point passes from Oli Norwood, the goals of Billy and McG, the clean sheets and defensive master classes. Digging in and never giving up.

A team of players who cost less than a top-end Championship striker.

If this group of players can stand proud at the end of the season and say, "I did it, we did it, we are premiership players", no matter how brief it might be, no one can take that moment away from them, and it would make me so, so happy.
I feel exactly this way, but I think all your reasons apply to the fans. The factors you mention make it more special for all of us, I just hope (if we make it) people remember this when we start getting tonked by 4, 5 and 6's in the prem!

I don't care if we go down, watching a Premiership team lineup with Chris Basham in it will make my life complete, nevermind his.

No where near the Biggest , we have 4 Different chances to go up , 2 wins or 2 Leeds defeatsl , any would give us the Wonga ,Been suggested earlier Wigan Home , no more chances after that one , even if we dont go up , with Wilder/Knill maybe next time we would ?

I disagree - Leeds could have been 15 points ahead with 1 to play and would still find a way of Leedsing it up :)

Imagine if Norwich and L**ds bugger it up and lose. We'll be top on goal difference ill probably shit myself with excitement.

Well, the lads didn't let me down!

Well done to Chris, Alan, Captain Billy and all the lads

Up the Blades!
