Thought he was perfect at Burton. He seems to have realised that as he can reach about 9 feet without jumping he can take balls above the little people, who are jumping as high as they can, with his feet still on the ground. A bit like Gulliver.

Speaking of balls in the air - was it just 2 and a half years ago that we had no CB’s? Now we have 5 and I can’t remember a word of criticism about any of them on here - which about says it all.

Magic Days

A jar of damson jam please, but with all the stones removed.

Blackman is a fantastic keeper, not sure it was such a difficult decision for Wilder. Moore will have his opportunity again, but we should take the opportunity to enjoy Blackman in goal while he is with us.

(Just to nail my colours to the mast on the one)

It might be harsh, but Moore simply didn’t do enough to make the case to retain that position over Blackman when handed the chance in the Hull game. He’s still a good keeper, and it was a big call for Wilder to make – the right one in my view.
tbh i don't recall moore having a lot to do after hull scored all of the stuff he was involved in was before they scored

Really like his laid back manner between the sticks. I was a little surprised he put Jamal back in because I don't think there is that much between them. However, Moore seemed a little anxious to me again hull so maybe Wilder picked up on it and put Jamal back in. I really like the lad.

He needs a little side table in the back of the net, with his cigars and a glass of scotch on it. Can just lean against the post when he's not doing anything and relax.
A glass of scotch is not laid back enough.
A decanter would be more appropriate :)

If jam had an aggressive character no one would get in the big fellows way !!!
He`s still a young lad though he will end up in the prem soon .

I like that idea, but only if he has a smoking jacket on, or perhaps wearing sunglasses

To be fair any keeper would have a relatively easy life with us at the moment. I think we have the lowest shots on target against record in the league currently. Something between 2 and 3 average, and that is down to the entire team defending from the front.

The only net with an open fire and a leather wingback armchair.

Great idea! Although, to be fair, on our way to 100 points last season, I think Simon Moore had something similar.........

[Lad] "Dad, which one is Simon Moore?"

[Dad] "the tall one son, with the Blonde hair"

[Lad] "Which one Dad?"

[Dad] "the one sat on that chair next to the goal, reading the newspaper"

The story I heard on Friday night was that Chelsea have put a clause in Blackmans contract which says he has to play in so many matches in the season to stay on loan.
Don't know if this is true but to me it would seem a bit harsh to drop Moore otherwise.

Surely it's harsher to drop the keeper that's got us where we are than the one that came in as cover for an injury and had 2 wobbly games.

Absolute cobblers. Think Wilder would put up with that shit for a keeper who was out on loan at Wycombe last year? He'd have played Eastwood and got someone else in if that clause existed.

Seems to be a small group of diehard Moore fans that just want to get about that he's not in goal through some reason outside of being second best at the moment. Weird.

Could be cobblers, I'm only repeating the story I heard on Friday. Not bothered who's in goal personally so long as they play well which in my opinion, both have.

I get where people are coming from with stuff like that, last season, Jamal isn't ours etc but it's pretty clear that based on this season Blackman is number one, not to say that Moore isn't good, but for me it's like when Fleck was suspended, put him back in as soon as he's available. Same as we'll put Baldock back on when he's available.

Blackman played 14 and played them well, Vs 2 for Moore. No brainer.

Seem to remember when we signed him Wilder specifically saying there wasn’t a clause saying we had to play him... definitely said it about someone this season

Which makes me think, could get Robson’s little side table out of the loft, wonder if his bottle of ‘water’ is still on it?

Anyone needing reminding what it means not to have decent keepers in the squad should have a look at the goals from Sunderland v Millwall last Saturday.

Dropped the simplest of balls before their goal

I was directly behind the goal at the Kop end.
Agree it looked really simple but the ball had loads of spin on it and obviously deceived Moore.

Still rate Moore though, think he’s an average Championship goalkeeper, he’s decent enough.
However I think Jamal just edges him.

Moore is a better communicator than Jamal but these days our defence is pretty organised without any help from the keeper.
Another difference is dealing with crosses and corners, Jamal is much better then Moore.
He never looks under any pressure and I always feel relaxed when we defend corners with Jamal in goal.
