One type of player we are in need of, had a look at League One (imo where we should be fishing for affordable, promising talents).

Cameron Burgess - 26yo 6ft 4" 6.88 rating- Left-Footed CB at Ipswich. Has won 10 out of 12 aerial duals this season - Heads bricks etc...
Ross Sykes - 22yo 6ft 4" 7.12 rating - Accrington - Another Big bastard
William Boyle - 26yo 6ft 3" 7.29 rating - Cheltenham - Looks like he's about 37 but he's 26, Scottish and probably lost a few teeth, big nasty CB

suggestions for other big centre backs we should have a look at?

Would that be Accrington who let The Pigs score 3 in the 1st 20 minutes today??

Aden Flint (Cardiff)would do a good job in both boxes and if he signs for the blades he can’t score against us !!!

I was at the Huddersfield v West brom game this afternoon and Naby Sarr was an absolute colossus. Man of the match and gave albion nothing.

Mangotsfield United ply their trade in the Southern League Division One South, the 8th tier of English football.

To give a background idea of the side he’s been playing for, for blades who don’t regularly keep up with non-league football.
Ok, as long as you're not saying we should ignore him based on the level he's currently playing!

Definitely not, I watch a lot of non-league footy and know there’s hidden gems to be had. Plus at 18 Freckleton would be a project signing for Lester & co to develop into a first-teamer.

I'd guess January will be quiet but a hard case cEntre back and a hard case centre midfielder would be the 2 players that I'd be after if I was Hecky.

If he can shift 3 or 4 of the players we don't need out, even on loan he should be able to do that.

Is this thread about large radios in the cabs of lorries??

January will be a large shaping of the squad with the main focus quite rightly on outgoings in positions where we have far too many players.

The pity is, given how poor we were last season, this operation could and should have started 12 months ago. Yes, it might have seemed a bit defeatest but football is becoming more and more of a professional and structured business and in most businesses there has to be a healthy dose of realism.

While talk of signing players rated at >£5m and in Worrall's case >£10m is frankly ridiculous given Utd's squad size and overheads, I fear the current Board and Senior Management are falling into the same trap as McCabe did in 2011 in believing the overall quality of youth players currently at the club is good enough to base future plans on. It proved to be very wrong in 2011 (look back to Utd's side and see how many made a living from the game, never mind developed into Prem and Champ players) and is likely to be wrong again. Yes, the odd one may develop into first team players and beyond, as Maguire did, but I suspect the majority again won't.

Very true. There was an comment during the car crash press conference about identifying young undervalued players to bring in as assets. Whilst this definitely includes the lads brought into the academy like peck, lankshear, starbuck and the recent run of trialists I wonder if it signals a desire to return to picking up league one and two prospects for the first team. It’s an area where we've had decent success in the past and it certainly seems to be Mitchell’s comfort zone so it’s much more likely we’ll be picking up players for 500k rather than 5 million.
