Heard a rumour last night that United have had a bid come in from an unamed championship club
Dont know thie ins and outs but apparently its a firm bid

It is said to be the same side that wants them both (it could be a Naughton / Walker scenario buy one get one free) If true wonder if its one of the promoted clubs, the players so I have been told dont know which club it is

Just say no. We have to draw a line in the sand and try to keep our young players so that we benefit properly from the time and money we have put into them.

But only if they are good enough surely. I'd keep McFadzean but would be happy to let Ironside try his luck elsewhere.

I think there probably does come a time when you get a bid for a young talent that you simply can't refuse and by then you should have a replacement ready to come through from the academy.

However I cannot believe that we are anywhere near that position yet, with McFadzean or Ironside.

So how many games have you seen him in then? only started one game and some **** has got his tandem out ;)

Well said. There is nothing like giving young players the chance to develop and progress. I'm sure all of us made mistakes at the start of our careers and took time to get to our best in those jobs. I'm still learning having been in my profession for over 13 years.

Why would a championship club want Ironside?

He won't be in our team if we manage to sign some strikers, i don't see why a higher division club would be interested. He's not shown anything yet, there's plenty of other League One strikers who have actually done summat and would be available for a pittance. Plus, even in the unlikely event he turns out to be the new Ollie Floyd Van Rooney and scored 20 goals in the first 10 games for us next season, we'd sell him for a 6 pack of quavers anyway. So why buy him now?

Ironside and McFadzean both need more game time this season, otherwise they might as well move on. Given that DW is clearly keen on youth given the 4 signed yesterday, I expect them to get game time.

He'd be mad not to play McFadzean in particular. In my opinion, he's got to be a certain starter on the left and it means we don't need to go out and find a player for that position.

Is that DW mk 2? DW mk 1 wasn't too fussed on youth. Giving players 5 mins here and there is worth nothing.

I'm guessing you don't work in bomb disposal then?

All depends on the fee surely?

If it's £200,000 for the pair, I'd hope we'd say no.

Would you pick him ahead of Murphy? (Said in an interested voice, not an incredulous one for the avoidance of doubt)

Murphy would be the central attacking mid for me. Then Brandy and Mcfadzean either side (although all three can swap during the game) then either Porter or Taylor (if he signs) up front.
