Best team line up with Leonard in midfield

It might surprise you to hear this but I've got eyes which enable me to see and I can also read.

Fleck's position isn't under threat at all, we still have no proper replacement for him. If he was unavailable or his form dips significantly, we'd go with Lenny and Lunny and change the dynamic a bit. Unless we did the unthinkable and gave Carruthers a chance there.

Duffy behind one striker isn't a good idea. We'd be lacking at the top of the pitch. He's not one to really get beyond the striker and be a goalscoring threat. It would make us very dependent on the wing backs getting forward well.

Thank fuck for a common sense post. Two points to consider here:

1. Does anyone seriously think that Leonard will be happy to come here just to warm the bench.
2. United's policy is to sign players who are better than we have already got. It's called improving the team. He will start ahead of Lundstram.

I see him as a box to box type and think we might see him on the right of a midfield 3 with Lundstram and Fleck,but can't really leave Duffy out..Maybe we can go 433 or 442 diamond to include Duffy aswell at times and keep 2 up top if our normal shape isn't working.
Looks like he offers a threat with shots from outside the box from what I've seen...also has a long throw which always causes problems...Think he'll be on the bench to start off with...good signing though for me

True, but I still think we'd be lacking at the sharp end. There'd be a lot of pressure on the striker to deliver.

If we go with one behind a striker it should be Brooks, he can do a lot of Duffy's role but also provide a threat running beyond the striker as well.

To be fair, I've only seen him once, but Wilder and his scouts have been watching him for a year or so. Due to the incredible patience he has shown with Rug Ron, that tells me he sees him as a first teamer, and not just a squad player.

CW rates him highly so I assume he’s a good player. But all the new players come in and say how they struggle with our intensity in training. It will take him a while to get use too it.

I hope Leonard hits the ground running and in a few weeks whoever plays has my full backing.

But if you don’t now rate Lundstram I struggle to take your football knowledge serious. CW seems to be rating him so that should be enough. But if not just get ready to Booooooo Leonard’s first misplaced pass.

Hopefully! I believe he will start in a few weeks as the right sided centre half. He reminds me of Coady. Be a very useful addition to our squad.

I think what CW is trying to build is that there is no one guaranteed to start. So if Lundstram or Fleck don’t produce the goods then Leonard can step in etc.

We saw last year CW will rotate his squad but if your doing well you keep the shirt until you don’t. We saw that many a time last year.
