Watford 4 Everton 4 mid eighties. Had set off from Luton to watch The Blades at Brentford but the car broke down and by the time it was fixed there was just enough time to get to Vicarage Road to at least get some football. Utd won as well!, 3-1 I think.
Watford were decent back then.

I'm going to drop.....

Leeds United v Reading April 2006. That late Stephen Hunt goal meant The Blades were promoted. I had a drink in The Peacock as well.

The 1982 World Cup Final in Madrid.

I've also seen Iran v Iraq, China v N Korea & Iraq v Palestine

Pretentious, moi?

For me 01/09/01 Germany 1 England 5 ... Owen hat-trick, Gerard one just before half time and even Heskey scored. What a win, what a night, what day, what a weekend.

Even though we lost on pens England v Argies in St Etienne in 98 World Cup runs it close. I suppose for pure drama and the epic nature of the 120 minutes and penalties, perhaps a better game than the 5-1 in Germany, but I came away from the game in Munich feeling much better than the Argy game.

My Uncle took me to watch Man Utd beat Barcelona early 80s. Think it was the UEFA Cup. Anyway they won 3-0, Bryan Robson scored a couple. Atmosphere was absolutely amazing.

Also went to the match where Donny beat QPR in the FA Cup, 1985. Dave Harle scored the winner, his niece was my girlfriend at the time. The only time I have ever run on a pitch at full time.

That would have been the game I was at. Frank Stapleton scored the winner and Maradona was playing for Barca

Not been to many non-Blades games but the following stand out:
1996 England 4 Holland 1, football did seem to be coming home that day
1974? Wednesday 4 Man Utd 4, incredible game and never seen anything like the scenes in the stands throughout that game ( which thankfully 14 year old Glosblade and friends survived unscathed)
2015 Barcelona 0 Malaga 1 shock result but a privilege to see MessI, Neymar, Iniesta, Suarez and the rest of that incredible team live. Cant wait to Blades v Barcelona next season😀
And a couple of Cheltenham Town play off final wins, 2002 and 2006 I think, amazing how stress free playoff finals are when you don’t actually care who wins

Czech Republic 2-3 Turkey at Euro 2008. It was the last group match, the Czech Republic went 2-0 up in the second half, Plasil adding to Koller’s first-half effort. That put the Czechs on course to finish 2nd and qualify.

Colin Kazim-Richards had come on after about an hour and had started to offer a bit of an outlet for Turkey. At 75 minutes Arda Turan got a goal back, and while Turkey continued to press it looked unlikely they’d get the equaliser that would have seen a penalty shootout decide who qualified.

It’s at this point that the woes of Petr Cech, a feature of the following season, seemed to begin. I can’t recall him ever making a howler before, but this was an awful one, dropping a cross at the feet of Nihat to score with about 5 minutes left. With a minute left and penalties on the cards, out of nowhere Nihat gets free about 25 yards out and pings an unstoppable effort in off the bar. There was still time for one last bit of madness as the Turkey keeper inexplicably pushed Koller to the floor off the ball to be red carded in injury time, and with all subs used Tuncay had to head in goal.

The maddest 15 minutes I think I’ve seen. I was right behind all three Turkey goals in the Turkish end. Great night.

Until Spain Portugal in the last World Cup, this was almost certainly the best international tournament match I'd seen. And I only saw it on TV!

Took a mates cousin from Newcastle to see their match at the Sty which was a boring 0-0 win for the pigs. Went to watch Rotherham at Mansfield when a United game got postponed. Went to a Charlton v Millwall night game with my cousin Charlton won 2-1.
I think the best I have seen was at the Sty the 2-2 semi final draw between Stoke and Arsenal, Stoke ripped them to bits first half but lucky Arsenal got back level in the second half I think they went on to win the cup.

England 9 Luxembourg 0 at the old Wembley. In December 1982. Think Luther Blissett got a hat trick and it was 6-0 with with just a couple of minutes left.
Years later (2008) a few of us had a freebie with a Birmingham company watching Aston Villa beat Slavia Prague in Prague. Couldn’t tell you the score or scorers but Villa won, we all got smashed and had a great time..... all for nowt

I may be wrong but i'm guessing I'm the only person on this forum who attended the unforgettable 0-0 draw between Carshalton Athletic and Tunbridge Wells FC at the War Memorial Sports Ground circa 1994. The highlight? The fancy feet of balding Wells forward Frankie Jimenez. The lowlights included the shit refreshments and a disappointing lack of agro, based on the usual standards of the Winstonlead Kent League Division One.

It is however technically speaking the best non-SUFC game I've been tot as the only other non-Blades game I've been to is Exeter v Birmingham in the League Cup at St Davids circa 1992.

Liverpool 1 Stockport County 1, FA Cup 4th rd. 1st v 92nd placed club
Can't remember the year but we drew at Bristol Rovers aand won the replay. Come on Silent!

Lazio 4-2 Inter 2002.
Always good watching Inter choke! Not that we could see much. Got nowhere near a seat. But did see seats set on fire.

Regularly went to millmoor as a young lad when the blades weren’t playing. For some reason a game against Grimsby is still in my memory.

Grimsby played amazing and ripped Rotherham to bits. Full of one twos and fancy back flicks all night. Think it was the mid eighties so would be talking the side with Kevin Drinkell

Rumania 0 Albania 1 EURO 2016 Lyon
We were in Marseille while the tournament was going on and did not really fancy the drive back after the game, so we pre booked a room. Took a taxi to the stadium and arranged to meet the driver after the game, As we approach the stadium I was convinced they were playing crowd noisesover the pa. It was the Albanians, they were in a good mood to say they had already been eliminated. Our seats were on the fringe of these fans, what an atmosphere. It looked. as though Rumania were going to wipe the floor with them. But backed by their noisy fans Albania gradually grew into the game. When they scored a late winner our ennd erupted. The after match celebrations were brilliant, we were stuck in an underpass ages, surrounded by very happy Albanians. Taxi driver was amused. Clearly Albanjans know how to enjoy their freedom/

We didnt play Bristol Rovers that day. We lost 2-0 at home to Villa

Pompey 3 QPR 0 circa 1998
Sat in the uncovered Milton end with my QPR supporting mate and nobody else, raining for 90 mins with the prospect of getting jumped by the Pompey scum to look forward to afterwards. It was shit.

Haven't been to many non-Blades games tbf

Olympiakos 3-3 Real Madrid
Champions league Sept 1999

70000 Greeks going mental, limbs everywhere, multiple smoke bombs and flares, amazing atmosphere, the legends Raul and Roberto Carlos both scoring, very open attacking game could’ve been 6-6!!
Amazing⚽⚽⚽😍

Sheff Wed 3-3 Liverpool.

My Dad’s an Owl and he acquired two free tickets so I went with him. We were in the championship and i hadn’t been to a Prem game for a while.

As much as it pains me to say it, Carbone and Di Canio were great to watch.

Some young kid scored a hatrick for Liverpool while being marked by Des Walker, twice his age. Michael Owen i think they called him...

I know it’s Wednesday but it was just a very good game of football.

Used to watch Chessy a few times back in the 80's. Remember seeing them beat Crewe 3-1 at Saltergate. Ernie Moss was playing and scored the 3rd and they got promoted from Div 4 that season. Remember the stand I was in still had hay on the floor!

14 th March 1998

I was sat right near the pigs , I used to live in Bolton for a few yrs and tagged along with a kid I was mates with .It was a pretty exciting time for Bolton what with a new stadium prem football oh and fred dibnah was still kicking around .22 years is a long time in football

Dads an owl ....my dad wasn't interested in football, however I told my son if he doesn't want to come to blades then under no circumstances is he going to Wednesday. You can go to man utd Rotherham Barnsley or grimsby but your not going to Hillsborough. 🤨

Only been to three games that didn’t United. Sheffield FC‘s two games at the Lane, the Ajax kids one was Small SV’s first ever game, and went to watch Louletano when on holiday in Portugal years ago.

I was hoping to watch a game when we go to Hamburg in September, but that might not happen now.

England 2 Greece 2

That world cup qualifier at old Trafford!
I ended up at this game with a mate and even though I am not English it was impossible not to be caught up in the bedlam when Beckham scored the free kick.
