Well done lads.

There is a lot of love for us from fans of the big 6 clubs in the league. Most social media posts I see from Sheffield United have replies from Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal fans etc praising us.

Our away support has always been spot on even during the dark days of League 1.

I spoke to a few Liverpool fans who.were at the game and they thought the bladesfans were hilarious

Steady on. Let's not go down the road of wanting lots of "likes" from the PL elite. There's another football club not far from us where that's the default mode, and we don't exactly approve when they do it. Genuine praise is fine but please let's not go down the needy route- we don't need to do that!

Who’s wanting? We’re just observing...

As penthouse says, we are just observing Premier League clubs reactions to us.

Wednesday on the other hand assume all Premier League clubs love them and miss them. Even though that is not really true to the point they feel the need to fake instances of them being shown some love from a Premier League club. I don't actually know of fans of any other club that act like this, possibly Leeds United.

From a demographic of 670 odd fans from a ground of 53k average attendance, let's not get too carried away.

FWIW the Arkles pub was far different from the last time I was in there. Back in 2003 we were ambushed by Liverpool fans and there was glass and blood flying everywhere. This time we all mingled very nicely and enjoyed a relaxing beer. The owner even welcomed us over the pub tannoy. 😂

No I've seen it on one of their websites? But no being funny how can anyone possibly dislike Klopp?

Yet some views on here are treated as gospel despite a no doubt similar ratio?
Interesting point. We on here are are in danger of assuming we are the unequivocal voice of the Blades, whilst I often realise we are just a token percentage of fans who think they are upholding the view of the club's fan base.

Wonder what they’ve have said if we’d have turned up and took points off em. Easiest thing in the world to gracious after a victory.
I think they have long prided themselves on being good winners. The Kop has for as long as I remember been famed for acknowledging great goalkeeping performances, particularly when they are part of a team that has been hammered. Hodgy played one or two blinders there and got great receptions, but I am not sure they would have been quite so warm if United had won. Unfortunately most goalkeepers are now time-wasters and 'game-managers', and have lost their rapport with the crowd; although he cost us 2 points, I enjoyed watching Ben Foster on Boxing Day, because he appears to recognise that football is entertainment.

I think we’ve won a lot of respect from fans and (most) pundits this season for bringing a refreshing and innovative style of football to the Prem and the fantastic support we’ve had. And not least our totally honest, humble and humorous manager.

Very proud of how we’ve conducted ourselves. A real credit to this city and to football in general.

Very well done Blades, one and all. It’s the best we have been imo. Long may it continue. We know we are always up against the odds at this level but what a fantastic effort from everyone and hopefully a platform to build on for the future.

Simon Tracey got a very good reception from the Kop after playing a blinder in the 2-1 defeat in New Years Day 1992

That's a very interesting point. Before I started posting on here a few months ago, like many people I suppose, I used to lurk from time to time. I used to think, who are these fuckers, they don't represent me or most other Blades I know. They are just a set of moaning pseudo managers, coaches and keyboard warriors.

However, then I realised it was me living in a blinkered world. There are between 10 and 13 of us who have know each other most of our lives and meet up before every home game for a beer and chin wag. We never moan about the players, team selection or question tactics etc. We just incessantly take the piss out of each other and support whoever is wearing the red and white. We are all of the assumption that Wilder, Knill et al know far more about the players, tactics and football in general than we will ever do.

You see I was a child of the 60s and 70s, we just got on with things. Nowadays, it seems, everybody wants a proactive 'piece of the action'. People want to be pseudo celebs.... we have bloggers, podcasters, analysts, player researchers, you name it, in this day and age, you have it. So maybe I was wrong, and this forum is actually a better representation of the Blades fans in 2020 than I ever imagined.

I was at a dinner with about a hundred "Liverpudlians" on the night of the "Hillsborough disaster" this was before the full extent of the tragedy had unfolded. They came across as friendly, humble people who never wanted to forget their roots, and i think this prevails even today, they are like us, critical at times because they want to see some effort and respect from other people whether it be footballers, politicians or just ordinary folk, if you respect them they will give it back it spades. I love their honesty and their traditions, and just like ours long may it last, true supporters of their heritage.

I thought we took 3k fans 1066? Or am I missing something?
We did Bob, but that's irrelevant. The survey asked approx 640 Liverpool fans if they thought Sheff U had the best fans, of which approx 620 said, yes. My point was, from a gate of approx 53k that's a ridiculously low percentile from which to draw any reliable conclusions.

Agree about Liverpudlians
But most Liverpool fans are not Liverpudlians.
It’s the price of success...a club picks up unbearable glory hunters.
