There have been some crackers in recent memory, Brown, Tonge, Akinbiyi, Beattie all stand out as brilliant strikes. I enjoyed them all but Brown's has to be my favourite, after all the brilliant saves fatty Pressman had pulled off against us, that volley was just unstoppable!! Lets hope we can pull off another friday night stormer!!!

What is everyone else's favourite?

Think mine was Whitehouse's in front of the Kop, not a great goal, but to see the how much it meant to him as a Blade to score that goal made it very memorable.

All goals against Wednesday are great goals - especially if we win!

brownys the best strike
though i have extremely fond memories of messers whitehouse & davison, even littlejohns cheeky backheel still gets the hairs raised

Michael Brown all the way ... and back again.

Like you say, Pressman had single handedly denied us so many times in the previous few seasons so to see that rocket sail past his outstretched hand as he fell over utterly beaten was one of the best feelings ever!

I remember reacting at the time with 'Stop that one you fat piggy ****!' as the Kop went ballistic around me. Not just the best derby goal ever, the best Blades goal ever (that I've seen anyway) ...

Here's hoping that James Harper's volleying boots are ready!

Brown easy by far the best i've seen.

but i am fond of the Deano one through Wood's legs at the away end.

i have watched it loads and john helms words

" a chance for Deane, Brian Deane, its gone through"

Got to be Browns. Was sat on the John street with my dad and bro on the gangway furthest toward the piggys. After they scored the first we got some abuse... when that went it.... Oh my god. What a fecking goal it was. from that far out, to adjust his body, get it over the defenders and under the bar. And again : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRp_XCYrI4g

Browny's was the best taken goal I've seen in a derby... but Akinbiyi's at Hillsborough was definitely the best celebrated.

I think I'm only just getting over the bruises on my shins from being launched about three rows forward :D

Audio is NSFW - Video

Brown's goal closely followed by Dane's one in front of the kop (my first derby).

Never felt adrenaline like it when brown's goal went in, until the forest game that is!

Not a favourite goal, but a favourite match:

8th September 1951

Sheffield United 7, Sheffield Wednesday 3

Crowd 51,075.

We beat them at Hillsborough that season, too, 3-1 before a crowd of 65,384.

Favourite match in recent times has to be the "Bobby Davison' Derby at Hillsborough in March 1992.

Agree with everything said. Tonge's T bar free kick at Hillsborough was awesome too. Akinbiyi's celebration was brilliant. Also cant belive noone has mentioned D'jaffo's thunderbolt!
