Excellent report

I felt it was an evening where our obvious squad deficiencies made us fallable again. I.e. no outlet upfront, no pace going forward and no left winger. It all adds up and makes it easy for teams, hopefully that can in part be solved in the JTW

Cooper, what a signing. Credit to Wilder there, he understands how important getting the best keeper you can find in the side. Some managers don't seem to get that

Seriki - changed the game for us again and gets us on the front foot. He'll start against West Brom. If he does well their against experienced players in a good side, then I think we can't drop him.

Gilchrist - needed a first half and a second half rating. I thought he did well at centre half. That looked like his natural position. Hopefully his height won't matter

Hamer - if he could stop giving the ball away. then he'd be a premier league player. But he does far too often and it hurts us at times. Still that quick pass upto Campbell that resulted in Mepham getting a red card changed the game.

Campbell - he needs to develop his all round game. I think he knows that. We lacked a presence up front, and that harmed us tonight

Davies - as well as scoring. I thought he looked assured on the ball and experienced and intelligent. Hopefully he's the type of midfielder that can give us "control" in the middle of the park and we can avoid performances like we saw in the in first half where we had no control
That Hamer pass for the red was similar to the one for Campbell's goal against Oxford. Something they clearly work on

As an aside, they have two great kids with the lovely Hummel home one and the away I quite like but the third was interesting to say the least and thought was like something you would see your Nan use as wallpaper on her wall!

Names please. If you see them, don't approach them.
Who's the father?

Hi DB
Met your uncle Bob at Brampton Church Fayre, great guy. Wearing his SUFC Jumper!

Thought Sunderland played some lovely football during the middle section of that match.
At half-time a few of us on the Kop were saying we'd take a 0-0 draw.

However Sunderland tired badly and we came on strong in the last 20 minutes, think Sereki changed the game for us (again).
Love how he's so direct and simply runs at players with the ball. Brooks could learn something from him.

Regards Sunderland....was very impressed with their young winger Watson.
Also liked the look of Bellingham in midfield.....we all commented that he plays like his older famous brother and even runs like him.

It wasn't a "must win" game but it was a "must not lose" game for both sides, so I expected a 1-1 draw, delighted and surprised we won.
Our Brooks can run at defenders but only if he's played on the L , not stubbornly out on the R by CW.

Your obsession with Brooks reminds me of Woodwardfan's obsession with Louis Reed. Are you really the Whitby Warrior? He also often says "Play the post, not the Poster"

No , not me , but I was a big fan of Woody 😊

I do plead guilty to a liking for Brooks and hope he'll get the chance to keep developing with us to his full potential.
I accept that JRS is better just now but he's not our player and if we don't go up we have no chance of keeping him.

Having parachute payments enables us to pay the wages of quality players on loan which is great for promotion prospects.
But I'd hate to lose players who get their noses pushed out of joint because they can't get any minutes or are getting played in a position which is less than optimum for them.
