Best Blades related Xmas present you've received?

It was the first United related thing I ever received aged 5. A gift set with a red and white shirt with a seperate stitch-on United emblem and a scarf. It confirmed my allegience which I would carry for the rest of my life.

The scarf still travels with me on certain occasions to this very day, and will always be my most treasured possession.

Two brand new Footballs from my mum and dad one that they had had signed by the players from the 1982-83 side. Two balls so I could use one to kick about the other kept in pristine condition for four years before it faded.

My dad knew the father of one of the youth team and he got it me done.

Colin Morris and Keith Edwards were the prime panels signed.

Fucking hell, I got that for Xmas the very same year aged 13. I still regard it as probably the best thing ever written about United.

It is a brilliant book. Gets as close to what being Blade means as anything I've ever read. It should be required reading for anyone who ever joins SUFC in any capacity.

(Would almost certainly be dismissed by certain people on here as Bladey Blade bollocks.)

Agree 100%

The foreword by Sean Bean and Gary Armstrongs introduction perfectly encapsulates how many of us feel about the club, something that is very hard to articulate.

I knew I was getting the pic, but she only went and got it signed! :):):)....oh yeh, and she's a piglet

Your friend is somebody who truly understands football. I wonder who got copy no.1?

got a replicashirt 1972, the club wasn't selling them yet so it was bought in London from a company that made replicas for many teams.
it was rare, it was mine, and I put it on with 10 on the back . I was flying, as if the shirt lifted my game when playing with the boys.
No price for guessing who I was running around in that shirt. Still got somewhere in the house.
No coat of arms though.

This season's home shirt from our lass.

Does it count if you've not actually had it yet? :D

Nope, she's totally deluded like the rest of them :D
To be fair though, my mate was soooo excited giving me the pic.
It was done by a lad we'd both worked with, Nick Bianco (@Arty Bianco on twitter). He's the owner of no.1 and she got his signed too (her boss had recently become friendly with Mrs Deane and was able to arrrange a rendezvous with Deano on Division St one lunchtime, armed with the 2 pics and a marker pen!).
Nick's a big Blade. He's done a Michael Brown pic too (guess which goal?!). Sold his soul mind when he did one of Sheridan's winner in some worthless cup, but was suitably apologetic and swore he'd never ever do a Waddle one....UTB

Every home kit in full glory from 1979 to 1984..

'Mum, thank you but I don't really wear the nylon shorts anymore. They're a bit tight and my girlfriend doesn't like the feel of them..Sorry!'

Good stuff!

Artistic licence has been applied I know but the South Stand behind Currie for that goal didn't quite look like his drawing:-

When you see the shot from that camera angle it looks so completely different to the BBC Coverage.

I'd forgotten how great Woody's goal was, too. Great first touch and finish.

For xmas 1974 I got the Blades home kit with No 10 on the shorts and my mate 2 doors down got the same with No 7 on his shorts.
Obviously I thought I was TC and he thought he was Woody.
Got a pic at mum and dads I was 10 then in our back garden with the football.

Quite a few I suppose - but not sure which is best. They all have a certain meaning.

The "old" house plaques, with the SUFC emblem that United used to do has sat outside now for perhaps 20 years. At least anyone that comes knows who WE are, so that is one of the best.
