Based purely on ability it'd be Rees. From all the goalkeepers listed there he's the 'best' I've seen. Sadly we'll never truly know how good he was due to the limited number of games he appeared in.

Other than him it'd be a toss up between Tracey and Kelly and I really couldn't separate the two though having started watching United in 1990 I probably didn't see Tracey's best years.

And Alan Woodward
Woody's stints as emergency keeper
Nov 1967 Blades 1 L**ds 0. Hodgy had his finger dislocated stopping a Peter Lorimer shot in the 9th minute. Woody took over and performed heroics for 81 minutes and got a standing ovation after the game
Sept 1969 Blades 2 Newcastle 0. Hodgy got injured with 15 minutes left and Woody took over
Aug 1970 Orient 3 Blades 1. Hodgy got injured with 5 minutes left and the score was already 3-1 at the time so Woody played for 5 minutes
Nov 1972 L**ds 2 Blades 1. McAlister was knocked out unconcious diving at the feet of Mick Bates and Allan Clarke scored immediadely to put L**ds 2 up. Woody took over for the remainder of the match (20 mins I think), again, he didnt concede a goal and Dave Staniforth pulled a goal back for us.
Oct 1973. Blades 1 Man City 2. Rodney Marsh breaks Tom McAlisters leg and Denis Law equalised immediately. Woody took over but was unlucky to concede Man City's winner which was an own goal by Bill Dearden

I was struggling to get my head round the geography of the Lane in this film until I remembered that at one time, the goals were in front of the John Street stand.
This was the old stand in the Shoreham Street end. It was built in 1897 but was demolished in 1907 ot 1908 due to safety reasons

Trying to remember the reason... think it was something to do with that my user name was already registered. Maybe I put in wrong password or email address. Sorry about that
