It's quite hard to choose one....There was plenty in during the Premier League season. One that does stand out in my mind though is Sunderland away in the F.A cup (think it was about 2004). We were losing and playing awful, but sang constantly for most of the second half.

Quite a common theme on our recent visits to Sunderland :)

In fact, I don't remember us ever scoring on their patch since they moved to the Stadium of Light?

Coventry at Home, two weeks ago.

A force were out in force with Dale Cavese and the lot.

We got 2 there on our first visit on 10/1/98 (Saunders and Taylor). Unfortunately we lost 4-2.

We haven't scored on any of our other visits:

13/5/98 (PO) 0-2
24/4/99 0-0
7/3/04 (FAC) 0-1
9/4/04 0-3
22/1/05 0-1

Ah of course, I was thinking that was at Roker Park for some reason :)

I almost made the same sarcastic comment about the Coventry game too :p.

Best atmosphere, and day out (as the thread seems to have developed), for me has to be beating Peterborough, last home game of our Div 4 campaign. I have never seen the kop so full or noisy since, non-stop celebrating, and an unbelievable sense of camaraderie amongst the fans.

I was only 13 at the time and my dad told me I was only allowed to go on the South Stand. But, HE wasn’t there, so I saved 50p by going on the Kop with my older pals, and what a day.

At the time my mum and dad were the steward(ess) at Hillsborough Golf Club, but still had their house back in Swinton. Following the pitch invasion at the end of the match, a number of fans decided to take lumps of turf as memorabilia… I got the penalty spot from in front of the Kop, and planted it in the back garden in Swinton. That same piece of turf is still in the back garden at the Swinton house, I’m not saying where, as the new owner is a piggy and is completely oblivious to the fact that he is mowing some hallowed BDTBL turf every week!

Needless to say I wore my Blades shirt with pride… must have been the only one in Hillsborough!

Crystal Palace away the night Paddy got stretchered off and jags went in goal, won 2-1 in the end (Nuddy and chief got the goals if my memory serves) Not many Blades made the trip but the support was relentless.

And musical told me to stop singing on the train back to central London because there were a lot of unhappy Palace fans on the train and he was shittin himself ;-)

Whoops, didnt realise this was an old thread.

Already posted a similar reply on page 2 without naming Musical as the most guilty party.

Blades 5 - Cardiff 1 , night match at BDTBL, winning this game virtually sealed our promotion back to the then 1st div.
40,000 + , stood on the old kop about 10 steps from the top, by the time we'd scored the fifth , I was almost halfway down the kop.

Dark night / massive crowd / unbelievable noise / 5 goals in an incredibly important match.

MAGIC

with all this talk of memorable atmosperes imagine what it would be like if we actually won a cup semi or a play off final!!!

If we ever even bloody score at a big play-off or cup match the noise will be electric I'm sure.

Another home game that stands out for me was a night match against Newcastle who had that Brazilian geezer in midfield, Mirandinio or something, I missed the first goal cos the queues at the turnstiles stretched right back onto Shoreham Street..
