Berge

If we’d shown some ambition and attacked this transfer window then Ndiaye would’ve stayed another season and Berge would’ve extended with us.

I thought the team that came up needed upgrades to survive: a new LWB, LCB, CM, LCM, probably even a CF.

We've just dismantled that team and only addressed one of the positions.
It's actually quite shocking how bad this Summer has gone. Even me, a big Prince critic, am flabbergasted.

Someone mentioned PH & co. might walk.
I'd like to think he won't but I'm not longer as sure.
I think if PH was a bigger name (no disrespect intended) he would have already walked away.

It’s funny.. has The Prince been abducted by Gary Megson and is being held at gunpoint

Prince said on the interview, they won't agree new contracts and we can't let them leave for nothing..

Jebbeson next...

We are going to have a very hard time convincing players to join us now. Who will want to join a team that’s going to get thumped everyweek and get relegated. Especially as we have relegation clauses that put players onto such mediocre salaries. If you’re a good player the risk is too much and not worth it. Odds for survival were tight before and now they look almost impossible.

I hope we dont do a Portsmouth/derby from this point. It’s hard to have any positivity.

I wonder if we'll tweet about reluctantly accepting the offer again

If this is true you have to question once again how we manage transfers. We seem to incur additional costs in employing people to sell players very efficiently but expect plate spinning Stephen Bettis and his admin sidekick Scheiber to be capable of getting deals across the line which they are currently failing miserably to do, probably not their fault with the constraints that are being placed on them.

EPL clubs have a team of experts in situ usually co-ordinated by a Sporting Director, we do not. All other clubs can get replacements in quickly we continue to tread water a week after the sale of Ndiaye with supposedly money burning a hole in our pockets. Unless we have replacements for both Ndiaye and Berge lined up to come in immediately then this sale should not be sanctioned until they are.

Wait until we have finished our business- we had two players who wouldn’t sign new contracts and would be worth almost nothing at the end of this season . There was absolutely no guarantee that we would have stayed up with them .

Let’s see what we do with the money

Replacements will be lower quality and cheap as chips. Remember we have to tell players and agents that they will have to take a pay cut if (sorry when) we are relegated. Who is going to join. We are going to be playing alot of our under 21s this season. Its a farce and a disgrace that it has come to this. The Prince needs to sell ASAP.

We must have some deals lined up need big funding, or the Prince has found Mcabe's book on how to make the most of the transfer window in one of the drawers in his old office..

From what I am seeing Souza - burnley; Obrien - forest want 10m, we aint paying; Doyle/McAtee - why would they come back? Palmer - can see City using him more. Other linked players - will serious look at us and go erm no.

Things are going to turn sour very quickly on the terraces I feel. I give it until the first misplaced pass on Saturday. God help it if it’s Norwood who does it - be like Tango’s just dropped his kegs on the centre spot

I can't wait to hear the usual PR spin of "he was being greedy and wanted too much", it is unacceptable to sell him this close to the season start
I can only hope this must unlock the door to Souza as Burnley now get Berge

WE’VE ACCEPTED THE FUCKING OFFER. I’m not surprised he’s interested.

Operation Blame It On Berge starts here. He's going to Burnley. A team that has just been promoted with us and who will have one of the lowest wage bills in The Premier League. He hasn't had his head turned. We've actively tried to sell him like we did last season.

I think this is a domino effect from the Ndiaye transfer:

If Ndiaye stays, we have a chance of staying up and pocketing the cash from staying in the Prem for another season. In these circumstances we'd let Berge run down his transfer and leave for nothing because we'd be in a position to take the hit.
With Ndiaye gone, we know we've got minimal chance of staying up and pocketing more Prem money, so we're trying desperately to recoup whatever we can for Berge while he's still under contract.
I'm sure Berge would have rather ran his contract down and go to Milan (or whoever) next summer and get a healthy signing on fee. Only way he's open to moving is for silly wages which it looks like Burnley are willing to offer.
