It’s the examiner reporting this isn’t it , nuff said !

Newcastle interested in Berge 😂😂😂can't see this one happening .
Some people still have delusions of grandeur when berge is the topic of conversation.
From day one he has flattered to deceive......
Cant see us getting half what we paid , he will probably hobble out the door at the end of his contract on a free , unless he has a massive upturn in fortunes .

And some have a bizarre, irrational hatred of the lad. A few usual suspects crawl all over any post that states his name, frothing at the mouth.
Hatred ? Frothing at the mouth ?
Are you describing yourself as you read my musings????
Hate is a strong emotion that takes up too much energy my friend, I have no room for it in my heart ...
Now go and get your morning coffee and try smiling 😂

Sander certainly divides opinions on here. Both sides of the argument have valid points. The doubters can look to his lack of game time and the fact that he isn’t contributing more to the first eleven, given his massive transfer fee. That’s fine as I’m sure the statistics will show that we should be expecting more from him regarding goals, assists etc. The pro-Berge section (which I’m one myself) can point at the fact his injury has definitely stopped him performing to any sort of level when we needed him in the Premiership. As a player, in my opinion, he is head and shoulders above anything else we have in midfield. When he picks up the ball the opposition have difficulty taking it back off him. He can move forward with the ball and pick a pass. What he does need is movement off the ball , which is where we sometimes struggle. I would much rather him be in our side than see us play against him.

Another way to get noticed is to be in a winning team, as opposed to a team that's getting relegated. Perhaps our recent streak will spur on those players who have not yet reached their potential to up their game and fight to play in a team striving for a promotion spot?

Did I mention you? You can’t deny that anytime Berge is mentioned the usual suspects show up denigrating anyone that doesn’t think he’s a useless lump.

Your reply was directly after mine so I'd say it's fair to naturally assume....

You were a satellite around the point I was making, but I’ll concede you weren’t rabid…
I like Berge as a geezer , it's just not happening for him unfortunately. I'd love him to rip it up 2nd half of the season. Obviously it would benefit us in more ways than 1 .
I just cant see it .
I'm guessing here but I'd say he lays in bed at night thinking hes made the biggest mistake of his life coming to Bramall lane .( just an opinion)

Not hatred mate, it's someone's genuine opinion that Berge hasn't been great. I also agree that Berge has been poor for 90% of his time on the pitch.

I have no problem with anyone that thinks he’s been poor, my comment was more about some that reflexively comment on.every.single.Berge.post saying the same criticisms.

Wind like this doesn't suit Berge's game.

Neither does playing as a holding midfielder.

Or on the right side of a 3.

English football doesn't suit Berge's game.

It's not Berge, it's that the players around him aren't on his wavelength.

Knew in my heart there would be a simple rational explanation/s.

Don't really agree with that. He's a luxury player.. a "ticker" - surrounded by better players, he'd be suited to keeping the ball ticking over.. spraying passes about etc. We're expecting him to be a prime pirlo age 22/23.

Yeah that's what I meant. It's not Berge's fault, it's the fans for expecting him to be Pirlo.
He'd be class in a better team.

As I said elsewhere. Reputation and price tag = expectation from supporters. Not unreasonable to expect more from him. Likewise McBurnie.
They are both an enigma for manager and coaches to resolve now. (Along with a handful of other problems). The club will only get value for money if these two can find a niche and play well. Otherwise they could be sold for Penny’s on the pound.

Excuses are starting to wear a bit thin for SB. He's been here long enough, should have been fit for long enough now and is training with the squad day in day out. A starting place in the team is up for grabs. Its up to him now to do the business, no more excuses. Its take a shit, or get off the pot time for him as far as I'm concerned.

... and I also meant that he's got world class potential, but struggles centrally and wide.

Said all along play him in advanced role he’s awkward to defend against sometimes unplayable, he will cause problems but he’s playing the way he’s told to. Play him deep he does slow the game down, he hasn’t got the Norwood ping. He doesn’t loose lose the ball as much as people make out, he does however need to toughen up and put a challenge in for his size. He should be causing problems at set pieces however it’s just not him. He will shine unfortunately not with us.
