Berge

Steadfastly believed from when he first arrived there's a hugely talented player in Berge.

Indeed its #BergeBingo, but a lot of false starts, mitigating circumstances etc etc.

Sometimes it's just about things clicking.

New manager, team with confidence, getting back to fitness, learning about the physicality of the league, more advanced role etc etc

If he keeps up the form of the last 2 games and fully evolves into an attacking midfielder, he can play a huge role in the run in. It is only 2 games, but its a start!

The cynic in me says Berge is playing is the Premier League next year. He keeps playing the way he is, we have a better chance of it being with us. Or, at the very worst he attracts more interest and we don't sell cheaply!

Funny how getting a good run of games in a side doing reasonably well he looks like he's starting to be worth the money and more potentially?
This time last year we had fans saying we should let Ramsdale go for free as he was a tragic signing.

Football is a fickle game, perhaps "some" of these big money signings Wilder made however they pan out (Good or Bad) weren't so daft after all.

I'm expecting McBurnie to start contributing more before the seasons end, assuming no injury of course.

looking more worth his transfer fee with every passing game. was immense driving forward
he seems to have got his strength levels up to the level we bought him for

Anyone else find themselves liking that bit of cynical 'nastiness' from him, when he knobbled that defender? I know I did. I'd previously labelled him as a bit powder-puff but that brought a ruthless streak to the surface, which I'd not seen in him before. It was a bit Johnny Giles from the Dirty Leeds of the 70's. You can argue all day about whether he meant it or not, or if it was totally over the top but it was good to see that he does have that bit of an aggressive streak in him. He just needs to bring it out more.

To paraphrase Katy Perry - 'I saw the ghost of Dirty Leeds and I liked it....'

Perhaps there's something to be said for the main members of the coaching staff being a defender, midfielder and striker and knowing how to get the best out of each group. Seems to be working so far.
Just needs a goalie as well…

Amazing what full fitness can do for a players performance isn't it? 😉
Could be both physical and mental attitude. Whatever HMcL are doing with our players is rubbing off on me (the fans) mental attitude and confidence. I was starting to feel / fear the fan division we had under Adkin, Clough etc but Hecky against my expectations is performing an holistic miracle on the club. Long may it last, I’m on my 6th day of C19 isolation but looking forward to my footy fix this afternoon.

Gods bless HMcL

Bit disappointed we haven't had at least 10 more pens since Jack got involved. If you know, you know 😉

What concerns me is the interest or rumours hitting up as the window ends.

I would be surprised if Liverpool wanted him though. And if they did they might be thinking more a lower fee to reduce the gamble.

I do think we would likely accept less than the buy out. Anything over 25m I reckon.

At what point do we cash in? I don’t think that’s now, but he’s possibly worth more today than he will be next season if we’re not promoted
I don't think he's worth 35M or I wouldn't buy him for 35M at the moment.

The big IF is are we going to get promotion and is Berge going to stay fit?
Either answer is "NO" and we are not going to sell him (at least with big bucks).

We should ask 50m from Liverpool, anyone else 25m

If we sell to 'pool for roughly what we paid for Brewster , it will be the biggest reciprocal piece of bad business in recent memory.
Berge has some really special qualities about him.
Brewster has no special qualities.
There is just no comparison.
Oh , except both have injured their hamstrings quite badly.

Sander is a great prospect, who has delivered firstly in flashes and more recently for longer periods when the situation suits .

I don't think he is worth anywhere near £35m as he hasn't performed consistently, even at Championship level ,but a top club could take the chance on him as he is , as said , a great prospect.

When he's on it he's is unplayable - but he's not on it enough and anything around £20m would be a fantastic offer IMO. The problem is that i very, very much doubt that plans are in place to replace him if he does go. So with that in mind , hold on to him and see if the end of the current transfer window is enough to settle him down (not saying he has been unsettled but perhaps there may be 10/15% held back because of the chance of a move - not his fault BTW) .

He cost 22 why would you take 2 million less 🤣🤣

Tbf on Brewster he had a really nasty injury before even joining us that put him out for about a year.

Without that injury I believe he would have gone on to fulfill the promise he showed at the very start of his career.

Don't forget the first thing they did when Klopp joined Liverpool was take him down to watch this wonderkid in the academy.
