Benjamin Bloom on McGoldrick

Excellent summary. There was absolutely zero risk in this for me. In terms of that sub-set of about 6-8 teams we find ourselves fishing in the same pond as, I'm struggling to think of a better bit of business for the relative cost.

You see I start the thread then leave it be. Very much like God when he created mankind then just seemingly lost interest.

A player who doesn't run around a great deal in front of our fans who, it may be said, sometimes praise a little too lavishly hard work for hard work's sake.... Hopefully he doesn't become the undeserving scapegoat when times get tough!

Can see this one going south 20 minutes in to be honest.

Nah - surely most fans are sensible enough to conclude you can’t blame a guy who’s come here on an incentivised contract for a small outlay. It’s not like we’ve paid 5m for him is it.

If we expect 40 games and 20 goals we've no chance. 25 games and 12 goals? Winners at home against defensive teams? That I can see

Agree with this - I think he’s not gonna be a first choice straight away but certainly seems capable of he gets a run going. My worry with all our outgoings is if he gets injured we are down to 3 first team strikers (assuming we get one over the line soon)

Maybe we really do need 2 more - to make 5 competing for places.

Kinda shocked that given he's earned a lot of money out of Ipswich and was their highest earner, we managed to sign him and it was all very public too.

We should go back to Ipswich and sign another one perhaps? I've got a feeling it could be a good place to shop.

Thanks Roy - love this guy .

It's obvious he knows his football , and overall his assessment of McGoldrick will do for me , providing he doesn't get injured .
Agree Isaw. If he was part of an identity parade and you had to choose the guy least interested in football then he would get my vote every time. Saying that he knows his stuff and is very balanced in his opinion.

I accept they are only friendlies but he has played in them all since he has been here, looks fit and keeps scoring, looks brilliant business, I'd sell im.

Not had a good escaped goat (scapegoat) in a while, tried Coutts and he listened so surely fans deserve the right to express an opinion on a player if he's not trying.

For the record, I think MacGoldrick will be a cracking signing.

It's been mentioned that his fitness / injuries were partly down to him wishing to continue to live in Nottingham whilst at Ipswich.

His travelling arrangements have now been reduced and we should benefit from this. Great contribution from BB as usual but I'm surprised he didn't mention this.

I like Mr Bloom. Always very fair in his assessment of football matches.

He sums Goldy up rather well and it really is just a case of keeping him fit.
