It does seem to be a trait amongst our very knowledgeable former professional footballer supporters ! Another one hardly given a chance, from another league, country. Hope him and another couple of others prove a few on here wrong. Here we go loan him to league one with the rest of our squad
His record in Sweden screams “small sample size fluke”.His record in Sweden was good and I've seen glimpses that make me think there could be something there but he's not ready yet.
It'd be good to see him out wide rather than through the middle where space is congested and his lack of physicality is highlighted. Problem is those roles are taken by McAtee/Archer and you're not gonna take either of them off for Benie because they're our two best players who can make the difference at any point in a game and Benie hasn't yet shown he can impact a game at this level. Feels a little bit like Khadra with Ndiaye last year where it's just hard for him to get a look in
Lack of game time worries me but I wonder whether we might just keep him here to have our staff work with him on the physical stuff and get him playing in the youth team to get used to our style. Also gives him more of a chance to settle into the city and get to know his teammates. If we go down he'll get some games in the championship I'd imagine

And yet you’ve used an even smaller sample size to make the judgement that he’s not good enough for us.
Maybe he is just lacking in confidenceLook, I saw enough in the first few games to see he’s nowhere near a player for this level.
Not just physically, but was several moments where he had the ball and had zero clue what to do with it.
Pass attempts were woeful, I recall a break away with Hamer busting a gut to get behind the defender and under zero pressure, oh is favoured foot, he played the ball to where Hamer was when he first saw him….by that time 5 yards behind him…Hamer tried to stop running but the defender simply advanced and took off up the pitch for an attack.
Another incident that I think was when we scored v city at home…he turned back onto his left and again tried to play a square pass into the box to the unmarked Hamer…it arrived at Hamers arse, smashed at him 3 ft off the ground…luckily we recycled it from the deflection and scored.
It was moments like those that were so obvious as to how poor he is that confirmed it. And ANY manager who would have watched him would have spotted those
Glaring flaws in his game
The problem when the sample sizes become bigger, the fees become exponentially biggerHis record in Sweden screams “small sample size fluke”.
He’s not a PL standard player. That’s manifestly obvious.
Extremely stupid? That's the Blades way, get ridBut again, you’ve only got a very small sample size to base that judgement on. And when you take all factors into consideration it would be extremely stupid to write him off before he’s been given a real opportunity.

He can be loaned out of course. I’d be fine with that.Extremely stupid? That's the Blades way, get rid![]()

Yeah, that Jermaine Defoe was a usless little pipsqueak n all5
Try 5’7 and 10 stone. Basically Raheem Sterling’s build, but please, do go on.

But if he fails in, say, the Championship. What then?

Would you be giving him minutes now?
He’s going to struggle with the physicality over here.
He’s like a Blades version of Leon Knight in terms of build. Hopefully he ends up better football-wise!
The kid got his team to Europe last year there's no chance we sell him already unless for a profit or loan him as low as league oneI don't think we'll sell him but a loan out is needed. Preferably in the top end of league one or a championship side that do create a lot.
The club won't sell as the whole ethos is to buy young and cheap and develop and if he's shipped out asap most potential players would worry it could be them next.
Winners of the Welsh league get into European competition tbf. That's no signifier of it being a strong leagueThe kid got his team to Europe last year there's no chance we sell him already unless for a profit or loan him as low as league one![]()
As you mention passing, Traore's passing accuracy (80,6) is second highest in the squad, among those who've played more than an hour. It doesn't prove much, but nor does selective episodes from some early season games where the team looked awful.
Unless Wilder's already decided he's not a player he rates, let's give him a bit more time before concluding?
Souza was always a good player. Poor decisions to play him along side Norwood hampered his natural game. Traore has shown nothing to imply he is a professional footballer. He’s right up there with that kid Southampton signed that they thought was George Weah’s cousin and were told he had played for PSG.Souza and Larouci received similar criticism a while ago. Some tactical adjustments and they've shown they can have a role to play.
I'd like to see more of Traore too. His size and strength is a weakness, but it would be nice to see us making more use of his pace, technique and finishing ability at some point.
