Spot on Bert. We have many one-footed players in our team. In fact all our left footers are terrible on their right peg . RND probably the worst of the lot. Show him the inside and he’s puzzled.

It never ceases to amaze Bert how many footballers can only kick with one foot.

You'd never see a boxer who could only use one hand.

Egan gets absolutely dog walked by every physical number 9 he plays against, Deeney and Madine now in 3 home games have made him look L1 standard. And he can’t deal with tricky players with a low centre of gravity either, what Chair did to him was a disgrace.
So who’s looking forward to seeing how he goes against Gyonkeres of Coventry after he gave him an absolute runaround last season.

I pray to God Anel is back for good now.

I think Baldock, Anel, Egan, Robbo and Norrington-Davies is the most robust defensively we can be even if the injured players were back.

Perhaps we just pay ourselves on the back for being top two after 14 matches having had patched up defences all the way through.

If we can get to the World Cup with those 5, we’ll have every chance of remaining in contention.

Thing is, they don’t have to be world beaters on both feet either. Just be decent on the weaker foot and have the confidence to use it when needed. It’s very frustrating when a professional footballer has to slow the game down and lose his team momentum because he can’t use his ‘weaker’ foot. They have all their careers to practice !!

Egan misses JOC because he was the dominant header of the ball at the back. With Anel in the side he had a player who was good both in the air and on the ground hence our good start whilst he was in the side. Against Millwall Egan also had Clark who was aerially competent. Thats the best the back 3 have looked defensively for a few years. Unfortunately it only lasted one game with Clark displaying Charlie Goode symptoms. That is the frustration of the season so far for me as Clark ticked all the boxes for LCB.

Bash was never a good header of the ball and his current run of losing his man is costing us points. Anel can't come back soon enough.

As for Osborn his lack of height and physicality when played as a wing back continues to cost us points. No one can doubt his willingness and energy, some of it needs to rub off on other players. The simple fact is he's a limited lightweight LCM. A trier but not a starter in a team aiming for promotion. He also has never been a number 10 despite the manager playing him there on the odd occasion.

If Osborn is in our starting 11 more often than not we are ending up a bang average midtable team.

I don’t mind the bloke but he’s a last ‘20 minute come on and runaround a bit when you’re winning’ type of player.

Osborne is an headless chicken, what offers fuck all to the team., hence can't hold down a position.jack of all trades master of none!!

A bargain at 3 million quid for a one footed weakling and he aint gonna get any better, bigger or stronger. Anel was the same price as Osborn I know where the better deal was

He's a bits and pieces gap plugger when someone better than him isn't available, not someone to build a promotion winning team around, the bloke you build that around is about a foot taller and is constantly injured. I understand the signing at the time of getting one of the more consistent Championship performers but the fact that he'd played 200 odd games without a single sniff from a higher club before we took him highlights his level which is mid-table Championship.

Osborn's the sort of guy back in the days of one-month loans that you'd get in to cover an injury at left back, he goes back and you barely remember him. He'll get a gig somewhere in the Championship once he's done here but I doubt he'll be troubling the top flight again any time soon.

Did we qualify for the World Cup ?

Aye
Mandatory left foot penalties is the way forward 😉

Starts in midfield tonight. When does the pain end?
Another Hecki head scratcher. Presume he is related to Hecki somehow, astonishing how he keeps getting selected, considering how easily far better players, better athletes, taller players and goalscorers get dropped out of this team.

Not only him to be fair, Mcburnie playing like he's got flip flops on and has never kicked a football before, Mcatee doing fuck all and should have been sent off ... pretty wank performance all round

Osborn seems to be a very easy target for flack from blades fans, but I have always said that he has plenty of positive attributes about him…..and to be fair I don’t think half of the negativity surrounding him is justified.

His work rate is rarely questionable, sometimes he runs around like a headless chicken but for the most he is on it.

His crossing could be majorly improved on, but in advanced positions he also links up play very well as well and shows bags of desire to get in advanced positions in the final third.

At 2-0 down you need Osborn’s in your team… you need positivity and players still looking to make things happen and this he did.

He comes with certain limitations, but you come to expect that. But he isn’t shit and it’s awful the abuse he gets when he puts on the shirt with pride and words hard for the cause.
