I did say this a few weeks ago .
I work with Ben's best mate and I posted on here he was going back to derby .
He's a spondon lad in derby and a derby fan .
I had the phone call and its happened, just a bloody shame I didn't put money on it .
His best mate is a close mate of mine at work .

Not sure if this has already been posted.

But doesn't sound like the words of someone who is all that supportive of the club and wants to stick around...

Edit: Realized the screen grab cut off the poster, it's from Oli McBurnie

He's not wrong though.

Handled horrendously by the club.

The last inch of respect I had for the ownership and board has gone out the window with this one I think

True, they have left him in limbo until the takeover is sorted. Unfair to keep him waiting til the end of his contract when it is fairly unlikely he was going to be kept.

Yet it's clear there is something is probably on the table regardless of ownership change for Egan and McBurnie.

Another one to be told in good faith he’d be here for another season only for backword to be given.

It really shouldn’t be happening. It’s frankly unprofessional and that’s putting it mildly.

Our entire recruitment and retention process is desperately in need of a major overhaul and rethink. Smacks of Tin Pot.

And we, as fans, then wonder why no fucker wants to sign !!!!

Good luck Ben btw 👏.

UTB
You’ll be gutted when the same happens to McBurnie I’m sure 🤣

Both who we shouldn't forget have had longer stints on the injury table recently.

A limited player who put the effort in, which is more than many of them. Sounds like we’ve treated him badly. Good luck to him.

Good luck to Little Ben, strangely a player I wanted to see starting more last season when backs were against the wall but never wanted him in the side in the Championship.

Surely living in gaza is an horrendous situation, not a poor. Little baby footballer who was in limbo for a few. Weeks then signs a new healthy contract, fucking jokers

You can excuse the Prince for not having much money, but I get the impression he can be very disingenuous and not somebody one should easily trust. I'll be disappointed if he stays on.

Would you care to fill us in Ludlam?

From a fans perspective he's probably been in limbo for awhile, then signed a healthy contract at his boyhood club. Doesn't seem too awful...

Put the effort in had a poor injury record, not sure re the club bashing I thought it was said a few weeks ago we weren't renewing his deal? Did I miss something

Runs his socks off but not good enough. Having said that he’ll probably have a blinder against us

That infernal ring could be in Derbyshire. Should have time to search for it now.

His dad died a couple of months ago. So it is a really shit situation to lose a loved one (I’m presuming fairly prematurely too) and at the same time be told your source of income is ending, after being told you were getting a new deal.

You can still go through a really shit time even if not at the extremes of being trapped in Gaza.

Disgraceful from the club really. No wonder we can't get anyone to renew

Oh please

Is this the thread where Ben Osborn is turned into a Saint by all the same people who slagged him off for 3 years and said he was shite?

Not sure what the issue is here. Was he offered a new contract/extension? Presumably withdrawn because he hasn’t signed it or his agent was trying to get a better deal?

Anyone actually know?

Most people don't know the half of it 🤦

Genuinely shambolic the way it's been handled
Just read Mcburnies comment on Instagram, doesn't cover Utd in glory at all, beginning to get a bit worried about our club now and which way we're going!!

did we actually offer him another deal though?

"Was be offered a new contract/extension" - Wilder publicly said Osborn would be offered a new contact

"Presumably withdrawn because he hasn't signed it or his agent was trying to get a better deal" - According to Nixon and others, we were the ones who withdrew it and he was happy to stay

No one but those involved knows, but doesn’t stop the Jackanory-esque fantasies on here.
Those same people are saying Shackleton is a shit signing even though he’s a far better option than an aging and injury-prone Osborn.

Don't think it's that, I for one didn't really rate him, and as long as we upgrade couldn't give a shit about him going to Derby, it's the behind the scenes issues regarding how the club are handling everything. Which makes me more worried about who's taking over the reins, Call it me being sceptical

We don’t know the facts behind what happened so it’s pure speculation at this point.
