Loans are fine from a financial perspective and in that sense they make a lot of sense. You also get to try before you buy etc and aren't committing yourself to long term financial packages. Loans have plenty of merit for a club like ours.
Down side to Loans. You are not bringing in players that are owned by the club, are improving players who will ultimately benefit the parent club and their finances, and there is no longer term planning as they could all have gone again in the summer. Also, the players might not be so bought into the clubs results as they know they have gone in the summer and can often coast through games knowing they aren't really affected with the final position in the league. See McAtee as an example (quite understandable) whn he knew the game was up and the club was going down.
Conclusion, a mixture of loans and permanents is the way to go. So far this summer we are overly reliant on loan transfers. Need some permanent.
