Replacing Anel with Ben Godfrey is a pretty big downgrade.

And it's another permanent out, loan in.

Very little future proofing going off.

If Godfrey comes in and we sign a permanent centre back later in the window taking us to four in the squad this season then that would be alright, wouldn’t feel comfortable if he is Anel’s sole replacement.

We won't be signing loan players as squad fillers.
If we're signing Godfrey on loan he'll be here to start.

We can't have 2 starting CB as loans with not one senior CB here next season. He's not very good. If we could sign him for a couple of million it's worth a punt. Otherwise, just storing up issues for a later date.

We’ve already signed two players on permanent transfers. So I’m struggling to understand why you think we aren’t going to sign any more
