I keep seeing bits from fans of his previous clubs saying he was best in a defensive midfield role. 🤔

Thought he had a good game despite only signing 24 hours earlier.
He was calm, composed and kept it simple. Passes generally found a teammate and he wasnt caught out of position.
I thought the defence in general did a good job and were let down by the midfield at times. The goal came from Peck watching their player run through. He looked at him and then pointed, expecting someone else to pick him up.
Think Godfrey will be a good addition, be it at RB or CB. I dont think he would be the choice for us to be looking at for a defensive midfield position but may be proven wrong.

He was one of the few positive things about the game yesterday. The other was Cooper looking more like his old self and I also think we have a real attacking threat in Barry, but he is not getting nearly enough of the ball at the moment.

Beyond that, I have nothing.

I'd add Callum O'Hare to that, had some real moments of determination. Dishonourable mention to Brooks, who was bobbar

Yeah to be fair to Callum, he always works hard. A few moments from Hamer as well. I think most of them are trying, but seem to have lost the plot.

There's just no fucking strategy is there? Let's be honest. Hamer is wasted playing deep and we seem to just be hitting the ball towards Campbell and hoping for the best. We are absolutely crap and only seem to turn on the talent and ability when we're still losing on 65 minutes.

It's not looking good mate. We have been here before and it usually needs a change of manager to reverse the rot, unless something suddenly clicks. That isn't looking likely with this set up at the minute, but we'll see.

Gerrim aht!

Good old auto-generated CC, always good for a laugh 🤣

If Brooks was bobbar, what was Cannon?

Brooks was a little frustrating and negative at times but just by having him on the pitch instead of Cannon, we had more width and started looking something like a football team.

If we are gonna persist with 4-3-3, selles needs to bring in a starting right winger or move Barry there and put Hamer back at LW.

The only positive from yesterday was Godders. Perhaps it's because Selles hasn't had enough time to ruin him yet

That's a no brainer when Gilchrist is going for 1.5m plus add ons.
True, would be an absolute steal in terms of potential.

But as we saw last season he's in a similar boat to Seriki where he'll need someone experienced next to him to help him, I expect it will be the same thing with Zatterstrom and Bindon as well.

This Korean RB Woo is 26, so you'd assume he'll be confident and experienced enough not to need a CB talking him through a game and telling him where/when to mark/block a cross etc.

There’s a reason Chelsea will accept as little as £1.5m and there have been no takers. Wilder eventually spotted it last season. I get he’s played for us before so must be brought back at all costs, but he’s not big enough to be a CB, not good enough at RB.

Played a handful of times for Atalanta, and even less for Ipswich, despite being able to cover two positions and them not being able to keep clean sheets. He was good when he was young at Norwich but has been in decline since. Mason Holgate mk2 (but I’d rather have Holgate!). There are so many better (and cheaper) options out there that I really hope this one’s a no go.
Get Mason on’t phone 😂 😭

If Ben Godfrey cannot play because of 'personal reasons' we should cut the lad some slack.

He may have some trauma going on in his life that is affecting him in some way.

He didn't look at all happy in the last couple of games

I know we all discuss stuff and it's all about opinions etc but let's not cross the line.

Things have happened in my life and it devastated me and I couldn't even go to work.

Some people think because they have a privileged job and good pay, they're immune from real life.
