Hamer is easily one of our best players and he's done a good job this season playing out of position on the left.
It's not rocket science but the theory was, if Hamer is so creative who can produce magic
then why not play him more centrally, so he become more involved, the more touches he has, the better we will be.

Norwich on Saturday was an interesting experiment because Hamer played in that central role with Borrows on the left.

As expected Hamer had one of his best games of the season, mainly because he was more involved.

So the beauty with brining in BBD and that BBD can play in his attacking left sided position, remember we were chasing Mikey Johnstone to play that position but he chose his former club West Brom, so we've played the 1st half the season with no left sided attacking specialist.
With BBD we finally have a proper attacking threat on the left, so we can now move Hamer into the middle.

It's like we're killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

I don't think Johnstone chose WBA.
I don't think Cannon chose Stoke.
I doubt Charles chose Wednesday either (now seems to be common knowledge that we made an approach).

The takeover (or lack of) scuppered a load of deals that we seemingly had lined up at the end of the window.
Imagine where we'd be now if we'd managed to do all of the proposed business.

Some great planning went into recruitment over the Summer.
Says a lot that we're back in for all those targets again.

I wish my bird could kill 2 stones😁

Would you have him back now he is competent. I wouldn't, he has got a bit better, but I would not want to watch him play for us again.

I'm not trying to convince you, I don't really care that we have a different opinion, it's what footy is all about
Seemed a nothing player when he was with us, although playing in a side that was regularly whupped, hopefully for his sake he’s developed.

Song for Swansea 😅

And here I was thinking he hadn’t got a cringeworthy song yet. 😮

Anyway, I hate the term “baller” but we’ve got some Americans on board now, so have a go at this, to the tune of Belter by Gerry Cinnamon:

He is a baller
Different from the rest
When he gets the ball he’s just like Georgie fucking Best

He’s not from Chile
But he’s got Diaz in his name
Well that don’t matter to us Blades ‘cos he can change a game

Our happy ending
When we go straight back up
We started off on minus two and still don’t give a fuck

absoultely brilliant news. I dont know why he struggled at Southampton. maybe style of play. because ive said before he was fantastic. joint top scorer last season. he really made things happen & was premier league quality.

i can only see him ripping this division apart now for the rest of the season could easily see him on 10 goals

This is how it should shape up

----------------------- Cooper

Gilchrist --- New CB -- Anel -- Burrows

-‐‐------------- Souza --- Davies

------ O'Hare ---- Hamer --------- Brereton

‐--------------------- Cannon

With other possible starters at RB and CM also brought in. It's a good enough line up to beat anybody, home or away

Been doing that all my life - great tip , although skid marks sometimes transfer to inside of jeans 👖- after a while this can become a problem which makes the whole thing a bit self defeating . You could also turn your jeans inside out as well but then problem is transferred to furniture 🪑
Thought you were a commando sort of guy

Chuffed with this signing quality over quantity and it is a good start with more to come hopefully.

I was disappointed we didn't go back in for him before Southampton did but I get we were in a different financial position then.

I am certain he hasn't lost any of his class I just don't think he was the right fit for Russell Martins brainless gung ho style.

But he is a perfect fit for Chris Wilder in a hard working team and he is the right character and gets our club so i am very happy with this signing.

Credit to the powers that be for sanctioning this deal because as we know he won't come cheap UTB ⚔️

I'm very happy with this one. His contribution last time round was very impressive given how horrendously poor we were. He was one of the only consistent performers who gave everything each match.

Finally we can start playing Hamer centrally more often. I still feel that we could use O'Hare alongside Souza as Arblaster's replacement as he's box to box like Arblaster. He also has the energy and will to chase down the ball.

That would be an interesting experiment. My suspicion is that we would lose out in the first stage of the press though - he and Hamer were so industrious in chasing down Norwich which is part of why their 60% possession never really got past the half way line.

That's a top team (on paper). Same as everyone else (no dissenters, makes a pleasant change) delighted with BBD.

But, as your formation implies, could the even bigger positive be moving Hamer into the middle? The thought of him running games makes me smile.
