Of course it always comes down to affordability for any club, but if we do end up paying £10m for BBD to make.it permanent in the summer, then it would still be a tremendous price for a player his ability. To us SUFC old guard we look at the price and think 'feckin hell' that's a bit steep.... then you have to realise that £10m isn't that much in the current football climate and it is still a potential bargain price. When you consider we flogged Trusty for over £6m and Osula for £10m potentially rising to £15m...

Also unlike some others on here, I happen to think that with his age, background re transfers and moves ready made, being back at a club he likes and is settled at personally, then I think he could be a top player for SUFC for a number of years and be able to hack it in the PL if and when we get there. I think he would thrive actually provided he is playing for a manager who believes in him and plays him the right way (unlike Martin at Southampton).

Really pleased with this one. Now, onto the next one please....

P.s. well done to the new board. Putting their money where their mouth is. Fair play.

I'm pleased with that! It is United's idea of an exotic signing, born in Stoke on Trent but has a Chilean mother.

Hopefully he'll get off the bench tomorrow, Danny Hall confirmed he is eligible to play.

Where do we play Hamer now?

Hamer is easily one of our best players and he's done a good job this season playing out of position on the left.
It's not rocket science but the theory was, if Hamer is so creative who can produce magic
then why not play him more centrally, so he become more involved, the more touches he has, the better we will be.

Norwich on Saturday was an interesting experiment because Hamer played in that central role with Borrows on the left.

As expected Hamer had one of his best games of the season, mainly because he was more involved.

So the beauty with brining in BBD and that BBD can play in his attacking left sided position, remember we were chasing Mikey Johnstone to play that position but he chose his former club West Brom, so we've played the 1st half the season with no left sided attacking specialist.
With BBD we finally have a proper attacking threat on the left, so we can now move Hamer into the middle.

It's like we're killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

Great signing, will he start tomorrow? Deffo be in squad.

He's not played a lot of minutes this season so very much doubt he'll start. Will come on around 70 minute mark I reckon. But we'll see. I've been wrong before (most of the time in fact).

I've just said in a whatapp to my mates that £10m is a no brainer if we get promoted. When you consider Mousset cost us £10m six years ago (six years, fucking hell!) and he was relatively unproven. We'd struggle to get a better forward with experience than BBD for that money.

If the new owners are serious then I don't thin £10m is too much even if we don't get promoted.

I think BBD and Campbell could become a really good pairing .Time will tell but our strike force looks a lot stronger with just one signings and more to come . It could be bad news for our misfiring strikers ,they better shape up I think . Wilder says BBD will be on the coach for the Swansea match but will he play? May be on the bench and maybe Campbell will start .

My interpretation is that we played only one striker and only one winger (on RW) and Hamer on LW coz he wanted to accommodate
Blaster Souza JRS Ohare & Hamer - 5 midfielders
and that was the only way to do it.

We had Brooks & McCallum who are natural L siders , but he wanted the 5 better midfielders in the team ,
despite it putting Hamer out of position and
despite it causing imbalance of wingers.

His plan obviously worked.
