Anyone care to explain the logic of replacing Brayford with Scougall, leaving us with the two smallest players on the pitch in the middle of the park?

We have 3 full backs and one midfielder all as make shift cb's. No specialist cb's

I can think of a number of permutations when Brayford went off, none of them involved pairing Scougs with Holt

Why did he not bring on Alcock as a straight swap for Brayford leaving Basham in midfield? We were doing really well in breaking up their play and I could see no reason to change that

Taking it a bit further, why the fk can't Clough relent and have an available specialist cb in Collins on the bench?

Gutted!

Top post.

Putting Scougall on for Brayford would've been about number 50 on the list of options for me. Crazy, and almost non Clough like as Alcock or Doyle would have been far more 'cautious'.

Frustrating night, again.

He must have been considering it coz Ken Jnr noted that Scougs and Alcock went into the dressing room at HT while the other subs were out.

Unbelievable decision Jeff ??????????????

Like I said in the other thread there is no way we will see Collins again.

You could go and cripple Alcock and McEv, he still would not play Collins.

Clough seems to see no value in height, but corners keep going in at our end and at the other well you might as well be better off with a throw in.

If only we had Leigh Bromby or Greg Halford then perhaps we could throw it in the net?

Great post mate and very very true. The word Gutted though really does sum up how i feel about how we ended up approaching that game after our great whole hearted first 30 minutes, we gave everything in that first half an hour and it ultimately cost us because we played as a very tired team indeed after this, although a couple of decent substitutions could have put us back on track. Clough failed miserably with the subs tonight and that's what has made me very frustrated indeed.

Had Collins not had his loan spell at Vale, I perhaps could have understood not playing him, but to have a RECOGNISED cb not even involved !!. To be fair though we knew he was never going to be given another chance by Nigel, and it was reaching the time for a parting of the ways.

I'm sure I have copyright over this

I'm sure you don't but you can have a large slice of gratitude and the warm glow of helping out another forum member.
I'll even buy you a pint if we ever cross paths :)

Let me know if you want to use it for your avar - maybe not since you have a good and distinctive one.
I can always return back to one of my previous one's.

It's a bit infuriating if you think about it for long enough.

The worst bit is when we're told Collins is training/available for selection. It's taking the piss having him at the club, our only actual centre half and refusing to play him.

In our situation, it doesn't matter how shit he is or how much of a disruption he is, he has to be involved. Otherwise just cancel his contract. Or is Clough being a proper wanker and letting him rot on purpose?

Spot on Keef, been said before, Collins average league one defender but great servant to this club, does he deserve to be treat like he has ?.
