Beer offering downgrade

I normally drink outside of the ground but in BLUT last season I ordered a Heineken. The youth behind the bar opened a can, upended it into the cup and when the froth reached the top crumpled up the still one third full can and chucked it in the bin.
how much for the head love....

Carling has been the best selling lager in the UK for years but it's absolute piss. The reason it sells best is because most bog-standard restaurants and those chain pubs have it on tap, so it's the go-to lager when people ask for "a pint of lager".
I used to work for Bass (now Molson Coors) who brewed Carling at the advent of the Carling Premiership and as you entered the staff restaurant/canteen there was a bar where you could stand and help yourself to any of their draft beers - Carling, Bass, Staropramen, and Grolsch. It certainly made the afternoons fly by. We also used to get something like £250 a quarter in free beer and unlimited discounted beer in staff shop. I was the most popular lad in the town.

Don't forget, with these new paper glasses you can't see where the head finishes and the beer starts, so stick your finger in it to check and get a top up because there will be short measures 😡

Yeah the euros proved that most nations fans aren’t trustworthy enough not to throw beer or their plastic pint pots

I’ve always thought that we could eventually follow rugby and allow drinking at seats but having seen the euros I wouldn’t want it.

I don’t want to be covered in beer every game.

Personally I was hoping that with this beer downgrade that there would be a wine upgrade on the kop.

Would be great to have a decent Malbec with my Steak Pie or a little bottle of NYETIMBER as a cheeky livener before the game
Had some Nyetimber at the tennis earlier in the summer. Think it was my first taste of an English sparking wine - excellent, isn't it!? I'd be smashing one down at HT, if we had them at the Lane. 😂

It’s lovely stuff. Not the cheapest but been a long term project for them to produce high quality. British beating the French Champagne with a sparkling

Detest that lot up the road. Rabid bunch of racists. I would love to see them go down as much as us going up.
Personally, I'd like to see both of you go down.

They might be completely delusional and full of their own self importance but at least they provide us with a local derby that provides great entertainment, captivates the entire city for weeks beforehand, and always gives us all something to talk about.

You throw tennis balls at opposition players.

Bore off.

Didn't even realise they were still making Stones. Proper 80s pint

Yeah, like I said, the first one I had, a few years ago, the first sip and the taste of it brought memories back of the days when your only choice (in Sheffield) was usually, Stones, Wards, Tetleys, Whitbread, John Smiths (plus occasionally things like Mansfield, popping up in Working Men's Clubs, and of course, the scourge of all night clubs, Webster's Pennine Bitter.......)

Good slogan though

Call me a bit weird, but l’ve always seen the time between 3pm and the full time whistle as the perfect opportunity to have couple of hours off the drink…Then resume precedings in the Crem afterwards.
I agree it's not much fun to stand in a massive queue at half time or pre-match for overpriced fizzy lager that you can't take to your seat. But I went to a game abroad recently where the bar served decent beer throughout the game and you could take you'd drink to your seat. I had a pint each half which added to the experience. Didn't feel the need to gulp it down either.

Not very British of me but I was back in UK recently and found myself partial to a bit of Cruzcampo.

Anyone else a fan of this Valencia offering?

Not a lager drinker normally, but my local has stopped doing real ales and there was no Guinness on 😡 so I tried a Moretti which I found too sweet. Then tried a Cruz which was not bad at all 👍
Couldn't drink a lot of it though 🤣

I’d like to think that the new beer offering is the triumph of a Blade over a rugby fan.

2 of my mates are Sales Directors for breweries, 1 for Coors and 1 for ABinbev. We were the client of the latter in recent seasons and the rugby fan won but the bloke who works for Coors is a Blade and I think his Bladeyness has come through and he’s won the business.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he posts on here.

Yeah, I’m currently in Berlin to see the Union Berlin v Real Sociedad game. Its a wonderful experience to actually be able to drink throughout the game.
Not only that, they’re actually clever enough to charge everyone a refundable €2 on every plastic “glass.” thus making them easier to collect and recycle…Why can’t we do this?

Got to be better than that Madri aberration. But I also find Estrella to be rather uninspiring also.

Would getting Guinness in be so difficult?

I'm not sure on the issue of obtaining certain brands but surely it would appease a lot of us non-lager drinkers?

Personally I'd go for a dream line up of:

Old Peculier - Ale
Scrumpy Jack - Cider
Guinness - Stout
Kronenbourg or/and Stella - Lager
Elvis Juice/Triple Hazy - New-fangled IPA
Madri/San Miguel - (For the) 'Driving Beers'

What could go wrong at £2.50 a pint?
