But "We're all fucking wankers at the Lane" already??I just hope that if - when - we go up - we don't turn into a self entitled bunch of wankers, as has happened to so many other fans of teams that have made it into the premiership. Having our feet on the ground has always been one of the best characteristics of Blades fans for me.
Or would you prefer they didn’t?
“Not ready yet”
“Need another season to consolidate”
“We’d get beat every week”
“Wouldn’t be able to get tickets”
“Prices would go up”
“Premiership is not as exciting as Championship”
What’s your take on it?
I'm sure some of our apologists would find many belittling statements explaining why we don't belong there
We're not good enough
It's scary
How can we compete
We obviously don't belong in the same League as Bournemouth, Watford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Cardiff, Leicester, Fulham, Wolves, Huddersfield
A league that has recently seen Bolton, Stoke, Wigan, Blackburn, West Brom, Birmingham, QPR, Middlesboro, Sunderland, Derby, Forest, Ipswich, Norwich, Hull City, Portsmouth, Coventry, Reading and Swansea all be in there for more than 9 months

Looking forward to half and half scarves, corporate boxes full of people who have just come to see the big teams, curious non football fans complaining about swearing, £50+ away tickets, being the last team on match of the Day, if we win pundits only talking about the opposition in crisis, condescending reporters seemingly surprised at the ground / atmosphere, getting into the back pages of the national papers, newspaper sports writers proudly coming up with new headlines like ‘Blades blunted’ ‘Blades on the cutting edge’ ‘Sharp Blades blunt United’ and yes calling us Sheffield United and Man U simply United.
But on the bright side, proudly watching a team not scared to take on all comers and surprise a few. Bring it on. UTB COYRAWW
Although I agree with the general tone of your comment, the supporter base, stadium size & history of a football club means absolutely nothing in modern football. It's something the historically bigger clubs like to cling to as they drop through the leagues, but it's irrelevant. We don't deserve to be in a league in 2018 due to the fact we were a decent side at the arse end of the victorian / start of the edwardian era. We are where we are due to a heady cocktail of bad decisions, bad luck and the financial side of the game moving out of our orbit. The teams that you mention have spent periods of time in the top league, due to a heady cocktail of good decisions, good luck and being able (or choosing to) to operate within the modern financial requirements.
Or by TardisMake Bramall Lane into a really iconic stadium, a ground that stands out and grabs the attention of anyone driving down into Sheffield or arriving there on the train.
The money’s pretty good though and I would love us to become one of those Yo Yo clubs. A promotion season every 2 years would be grand.Or would you prefer they didn’t?

You've described what Burnley did for a few seasons. Eventually they stabilised after attracting the type of players who could sustain their Premiership position.
You can't plan for what happens but at least be savvy enough to understand the possibilities and work accordingly. So much depends on how we're managed from the very top, and no matter how good CW is, he needs a board who want exactly the same as he does.
