Looks like the worst big money signing since Chris Guthrie.
For a club short on money, how we've shelled out millions on a bloke who seemingly cannot be arsed to put a shift in is criminal.
He's displaying every symptom of modern footballer's disease. Already a millionaire, thinks he's worth every penny and done absolutely sod all to deserve it.
No wonder no-one else was interested in him.

Are you for real? He's only been at the club 5 minutes. Maybe it's Blackwells shite long ball tactics thats the problem.

Hard to disagree with any of that. People will say he's been played out of position. Maybe that is true but a £3m player should totally stand-out and he hasn't even done enough to force his way into a regular starting slot.

Yup, those fans having a go at a bloke who does put a shift in every game and can't see how little Evans is giving seem to have got modern football fan's disease. They seem to think because he came from Man City and cost £3m he must be something he very plainly isn't ie good.
The comparison with Ward, let go by Villa and who fought his way back up and cost us a tenth of Evans' fee says absolutely everything.

Yet if he's left on the bench, people slag off the manager.

Ched to me, doesn't look fit.

He's shown slight promise, but needs to get fit/work harder.

He's scored a few (including another ruled out today), and is still young and learning.

Far, far too early to write him off and bomb him out of the club.

He scored last week.

Just Hendo got in the way.

Showing slight promise when you cost what he did is some way short of what he should be doing.
So what if he's had to come off the bench.
He played from the start last Friday and was shocking then as well.
No excuses. He either knuckles down or should be shown the door.
If he's a mistake, it's going to be better to admit it early and move him on, presumably in January, and get someone in who does really want to play for United.

Evans doesnt need to go and atleast he can score now and then unlike some strikers we have signed in the past.

i think ched needs competition personally he was put on the bench for blackies tactical reasons. He must look round at the other 6 and think i'll b e getting on today he is 1 of 2 strikers we have i think if he looks round and see's 2 strikers next to him like warnock used to have he'd be thinking he needs to impress thats goes for hendo as well

Take the blinkers off boys!

We have seen too many FOOTBALLERS come and go from this club to realise that the problem isn't individual players it's the garbage tactics that have we have been forced to watch ever since the Bassett years, (unfortunately Kendall left and Robson wasn't even given a chance).

The reason Ched Evans isn't starting every game is because he is a FOOTBALLER and Blackwell doesn't do football, he does hoofball.

This club needs a rocket up its arse.

The rot is at the top. We have a wide boy for a chairman, a barrow boy for a manager and apart from a few, a Suday League side for playing staff.

If we aren't careful we are going to slip and when we start slipping we wont stop..............

He doesn't currently look like a 3m player but it's very early, I know it's well publisised but player prices have been blown well out of proportion, for instance swansea paying 1m for C Beattie and then leaving him on the bench! Another is lescott 24m-ridiculous!

Couldnt agree with you more there.

He hasnt looked sharp, nor fit. and after coming from a team thats spending a fortune, where he hasnt figured nor played much its not surprising.

As for moving him on, jesus

Must be very difficult for Evans to get any real form under his belt with tight arsed Blackwell opting for the carthorse henderson up front in every away game, all by his sen.

So Evans gets a 15 minute cameo away from home every second game if he`s lucky (or if he`s even luckier & someone gets injured as per today , he gets to play out of position).

Hardly what you want a £3m striker to be doing, warming the bench every second game while a "1 deflected goal in 9 games" misfiring, foul committing plank of wood leads the line.

just a thought

Can't beat a troll! If you think anyone who says "Sornob wasn't given a chance" is going to be taken seriously, then I'll eat my house.

Seriously? Robson is an awful manager.

His black book of contacts and ability to lure good players were the only things he was good for.

I've been at work all day and have been a bit out of the loop.

What i can't understand is that after a defeat, it seems like every man and his dog is lining up to lay the boot in. Sometime i think certian people want the Blades to lose so they can troll the message board telling everyone that how right they have been all along.

Its not just one defeat though, its two defeats in three sandwiching a dodgy 3-2 after being three up at half time. Its also letting 7 goals in the last three
Its about the manager not having a clue! - its not one defeat when will people realise!!!

What about the 6 games unbeaten before that?

Lets be honest, you have had an agenda against Blackwell since the start of the season though haven't you.

I will admit that I don't like Blackwell as a manager - his team selection is questionable, his tactics are mind numbing, his man management is pathetic, his arrogance is annoying and his understanding of football is non existant. Apart from that he is ok
No I don't have an agenda against Blackwell I just think that he is not the man that will ever take the Blades to promotion because whatever attributes he does possess QUALITY is not one of them!

Would that be the same manager who rescued us from probable relegation to an improbable tilt at the play-offs, a point away from automatic promotion the year after, and still has a side in the top six?

Believe me, I've seen so, so, so, so much worse than this. I'm sure you may have done too. I'm not saying that things are perfect, but we're there or thereabouts.

No, I'm not saying it's perfect, but why are you moaning?

I'll admit that I've never trusted a side managed by a goalkeeper, and (just as I wasn't after this sort of time with St Neil) I'm not totally convinced by Blackie, but you tell me what else we can do?

I am moaning because I believe given the players at Blackwells disposal during his time here as manager we have underperformed - yes he did take over a side that was low on confidence - but with james beattie, Jon Stead, Morgan, Killgallon, Ehigu,Kenny, Hulse etc etc we were never going to be relegated even I could have kept them up. Last year he screwed up big time when aotomatic was there for the taking! This year he has reduced the squad to bare bones with little or no cover
And whilst we are doing ok look at the teams around us in the league, Blackpool, Watford and Preston - all have been getting rid of players this year not spending £3million on a striker then putting him on the bench!!!

So why aren't you a professional manager then if it's so easy? Automatic promotion was there for the taking? When?

He's got rid of high earners to trim the wage bill. We have no parachute payments now, remember? I agree, and have said that we look weak in several areas, but just because we've lost to Swansea (a side we stole three points from last year away from home - a bit of Karma) is no reason to spit the dummy out and say that Teddy isn't your friend anymore.

For the record I believe we snatched a draw in the last minute last year -Morgan scored I thinK!
I have not spit the dummy out as you state but have raised the fact that all is not rosy in the garden and that we have lost our last two matches away from home against mediocre opposition. Warning bells should be starting to ring we are not as good as many on here seem to think we are!

And we have had a very strong away record for a couple of years! Yes, you are spitting a dummy, and I'm not putting teddy back in the cot either.

But yes, it was a draw last year, so apologies there.

With respect though, we're about where we have been for the best part of the last twenty years. Little patches happen. Remember winning one in six round February when we got automatic under St Neil?

Then he dumped BadBuy and brought back HMS Shipps Get Blackwell to dump Henderson and play Evans up front supported by Treacey and Little
