I’m fully on the BBD train really.

I think he’d fit very well.

He puts numbers on the board in terms of goals and that’s a possible criticism of the team.

There’s a number of last minute names being bandied about that smack of panic and last thing we want is to end up with a dud.

Yes a Jack Clarke would have been nice but I think we all see that ship probably sailed when he scored the other day.

In a straight shoot out between us, Derby and Stoke, I’d like to think he has unfinished business with us and he’ll bring experience and reliability to the left.

Fingers crossed because frankly I don’t want to end up with any old Ipswich cast off.

No offence to Bbd cos I think he’s a perfectly fine championship player if he’s on form.

But Where’s the ambition, why aren’t we swinging again for a prospect we’ve no chance of signing permanently - like a MGW or mcatee

The entire premier league and rest of the world available for us, thousands of players and we are going to end up using loan spots on Joe Worrell and BBD. That is a hopeless use of resources to me.

Considering we have less than a week to go until the transfer window closes and exactly zero left-wingers in the squad, I don't think we can afford to be too picky.

In short: GERRIMIN
He's feckin R footed - feck inverted wingers , I hate em.
Did Woody or Colin Morris play on the L wing ?
No , they played on their strong side and beat the defender.
I'm sick of seeing inverted wingers.

Maybe this time around there isn’t one available?

You’ve Crozier-Duberry but seems Brighton would rather sell for 10m.

Who else is there? There’s whoever Ipswich don’t want, possibly McAteer now and Mehmeti, probably not Clarke anymore or Philogene.

Who else? Osman who Brighton may keep, Mavididi? Leicester probably want a sale. Lewis Koumas might be an option if Liverpool don’t want to keep him around. Some young Man U guy like Ibragimov that they stole from us! Liam Miller if Hull decide they have enough. Roman Esse? Probably more likely to be sold. Fabio Carvalho probably pick of them but Brentford may keep him. Leeds would rather sell Ramazani. Rak-Sakyi more of a right sided inverted type. Lacey from Man U? More right sided. Fofana from Chelsea if he isn’t sold? Maybe could try Bobby DeCordova-Reid? Plays mainly down the middle but not unfamiliar with the left. He might be an interesting wild card.

Otherwise you then look at frees and older players at that. Players like Zaha would be excellent. Sterling would probably bring a wow factor; he’ll know Phillips. But I could well imagine they’d rather play at the top tier of a league we all know is lesser, possibly snag some European football as well, even if the standard and competitiveness of the Championship is higher. They probably don’t fancy the psychological notion of dropping to the second tier.

It makes BBD a proven and affordable option.

It will be interesting. Stoke; his home town, Derby; he spent a full year there and us; gave him his PL debut and had two spells already. You’d think he knows Chris more than most.

He’s been the most obvious Gus replacement since the outset. He’ll get less assists but unlike most wingers a good chance he gets double figure goals if he plays all the time.

I have seen Woody switch to the left in a tactical switch during games. He has scored and created some goals from there.

Not blown away by this at all but it's desperate times. Wilder has got more out of him than other managers in recent years I suppose so hopefully he can show some of that Premier League form.
I like BBD and I think he’ll add a lot of balance to our attacking options.
That’ll be x3 loans so there’s still potential for more to come in as well.
Is there any more news on Webster on a free? It seems to have gone quite… then again I’m massively out of the loop! ⚔️

im not sure wilder has totally given up on signing souttar think if we sell a couple it might just be back on but i would be happy with webster and he does look the better option

There's no reason why bringing BBD in stops us going for a prospect. We have the loan spaces.

Right, gotcha. No need to utilise a fundamental, structural feature of the modern game to blood and test raw talent. Better to spend limited funds on risks. Gotcha.

Id be pleased if we get BBD. Hes a decent championship player - provided hes played out on the left or left of a front two. On the right it was a car crash. Luckily if we get him, i think hes earmarked for the left hand side, which is where he played for us in his first stint on loan. Good signing of it happens.

Also, some fans need to be realistic about money avilable and what we can now attract. Plenty of people say no to this player, no to that player but dont often put on realiatic alternatives. Id like Iliman Ndiaye back again. Not gunna happen is it.

Digging in a little, I'm coming round to BBD. I think I'm indifferent because of familiarity. His second spell wasn't as successful, but overall, his output for us is the best of his career: almost 1 in 3 for us, excluding assists.

His assist figures are top two for us as well:
