Name them.

Available in the last few days of the window, affordable for Sheffield United, would favour Sheffield United over others and where the club is not wanting them to be flogged permanently.

I collated a reasonable list of likely options in post #576 and I don’t reckon there is a MGW in there this time around.

Abdul Abdulmalik
Ollie Tanner
Even for a centre half - Luke Mcnally from Bristol

I really like BBD. There’s a reason he went to Villarreal, was then loaned to us in the PL, and subsequently joined Southampton for £7m. Recently he’s often not been played in his best position, which for me is as an inside left forward.

The most important thing is that he wants to play for us and has turned down alternatives to do so. I think he’ll have a solid season for us

We still need to replace the creativity lost with Hamer. This signing can't be it.
At his best he’s 1 in 3 goal contributions and that was with us a couple of years ago.

Solid championship player, 6/10 every game, but it’s another player (like Phillips et al) where we are gambling on them recovering form and playing at their peak when there’s very little evidence to support that’s a likely scenario.

Who are the better players out there?
We’re competing with Stoke and Derby, the top 3rd of the table are busy looking at other players.

It’s not fans jobs to identify targets, that what your scouts and analysts are supposed to do. Fuck knows what we’re paying our lazy bastards for.

If you're going for promotion, BBD is a useful utility forward (as he showed a couple of spells ago).

If you're relying on him, you're midtable fodder... maybe that's where we are at.

It's a very typical Wilder signing. One we expected to make. He'll do alright .

Like a few have said, underwhelmed by the signing (if it happens?), but understand the reality of the current situation that the club is in.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised of the sale of Cannon on the back of this??

He was crap second time around for us
Do we have any scouts at our club?
He was played on the ight though mainly which isn't his best position. He'll be much better on the left cutting in. Hamer was on left of course before.

Honestly that's the best we could have hoped for barring some wonder kid on loan. Even then there's big risk involved which we can't really afford to make in that position.

For every MGW there's a Ben Woodburn.
Romelle Donovan could be that wonder kid. Thought he was outstanding against Blackburn and has gotten better in every game so far.

MGW was a different story though. He was a cheat code. Had absolutely no place being in a Championship team.
