Just posted this on another forum but i thought it would be interesting to guage what sort of reaction it gets on here
Just done a quick go on it and come up with the following results between now and the end of the season, and if my predictions are anything to go by then we could be in for a very interesting final day of the season.
Blades
A win against Ipswich, with results going against Birmingham and Reading give the players and supporters a real break in the promotion race. This is followed up with a decent win over Barnsley before easter throws up a mixed bag with a defeat against Reading and a decent win over a poor forest side. A draw at Burnley seems to condemn the Blades to a play off spot but a win over Swansea puts the Blades back in the mix and things go our way on the last day of the season with Reading and Birmingham cancelling each other out in a winner takes all game on the last day of the season
H Ipswich W 2-0
H Barnsley W 4-1
A Reading L 0-1
H Nottm Forest W 3-0
A Burnley D 1-1
H Swansea W 3-2
A Crystal Palace W 2-1
Reading
A Coventry D 1-1
H Sheff Utd W 1-0
A Blackpool W 2-0
H Barnsley W1-0
A Derby D 1-1
A Norwich D 1-1
H Birmingham D1-1
Drop points against Coventry but a win over the Blades and then followed by a couple of wins seems to put them in the box seat and a win at Derby will more or less virtually guarantee promotion but they come away with a draw. A tough game at relegation threatened Norwich leaves them with a winner takes all clash v Brum with a win guaranteeing promotion.
Birmingham
H Wolves L 0-2
A Charlton W 2-0
H Plymouth D 1-1
A Watford L 0-1
H Preston W 2-0
A Reading D1-1
Form will remain patchy and a easy run in on paper proves a lot harder in reality and drop too many points but remarkably stay in close touch with the promotion race but don't do enough on the final day to get promotion
Wolves 90
Sheff Utd 82
Reading 81
Birmingham 80
Cardiff 75
Burnley 74
Bristol City 71
Preston 67
Swansea 66
Ipswich 65
QPR 65
sheff Wed 63
Crystal Palace 58
Watford 56
Derby 56
Coventry 56
Nottm For 54
Plymouth 54
Doncaster 54
Barnsley 51

Hopefully this will not be too far off the mark, but what we really need is to get a real bear pit of an atmosphere going at the Lane and go for the kill early on. The absolute real six pointer is Reading away, win that and suddenly we become very serious contenders, lose it and we will still have a lot of work to do but i think given the right breaks, and if we keep our bottle we can still do it
