Honestly if I was the manager without letting on I'd be planning to get him out of the club. We may need him at some time, so we can just exile him like Collins, you have to man manage but:
Adkins has given him a key role to play - he's almost central to his plans - and he gets himself sent off and a three game ban for a needless and even reckless challenge in a lost cause in a meaningless match, with a big game on Satdi.
It really couldn't be much worse.
I think players should be given a second chance but that was career suicide.
As someone else has said, it's Wallace's shirt to lose.
It's not really about his ability his merits and demerits on the ball, it's about his liability, his attitude.
Furthermore if the management team have, say, been planning behind the scenes to sign a CB - and others - with the Murphy money this may even affect those plans. Or maybe Adkins will just have to accommodate him till we can afford to jettison him.
One day it'll be good riddance to bad rubbish. Till then hope he doesn't implode again.
- He got into some drugs trouble at Everton (I think)
- There was the drugs (again) over the summer
- There was the straight red last season
