Baxter gets season long ban...

I wonder why it all took so long to conclude? If there were appeals and retests I'd have expected it to be in the news.

But anyway, on the subject of help, he may not need any. Plenty of people do the odd line and aren't addicted (though most of them are tossers). I remember James Shield writing that he liked Baxter because he seemed an ordinary bloke who happens to be good at football. Whilst top players are obsessive about football, Baxter ain't.

On that basis he might be just fine with an ordinary job, a big fat gut, and spliff now and again. Either way I'm glad he's nothing to do with us.

One of the measures of addiction is when it starts to impact other aspects of your life negatively. The first time he gets caught can be put down to stupidity, but after that how hard is it for a non-addicted person, knowing that he'll face another drugs test, to stay clean?

Could be he just doesn't care about football and likes the occasional recreational drug. I'm no psychologist but my suspicion is that at the point you ruin a lucrative career because you couldn't stay off the party drugs, it's more likely that you have some kind of problem.

Jose Baxter been on the Charlie then what a silly lad he is these footballers don't know how lucky they are.

There are some heartless bastards on here. Wishing death on someone who has such a problem is ruthless and heartless.

I do not believe in mollycoddling anyone and I do think he is stupid, irresponsible and does not deserve help after he will have been given it already but.....to die....really?

He's had so many chances you would hope that the penny drops sometime very soon. As said, he needs to detach himself from his current crew because he is a very talented footballer. You get the feeling though that he will be just another in the long line of players who have thrown it all away

Well I am on the lack of sympathy side here, there are hard working blokes out there thrown on the scrap heap when their steel works and pits have closed and their future is scuppered through no fault of their own, meanwhile this fella is blessed with a talent where he could be paid riches beyond what most of us could only dream of and pisses it up against the wall, not once, not twice, but THEEE times.

No, no sympathy.

No, no sympathy.

I have sympathy with mental illness , drink , drugs , which can wear thin when I see people fighting other illnesses of no fault if there own.

We have a fantastic health service , but something just doesn't ring tight with Baxter . Is the bloke just a scally or with the wrong mix .

Hard life out there and Blades ain't a registered charity , for Wafes and Strays .

The bloke is past , over , gone . Good luck to him , but he has to earn it . Nowt to do with us .

Baxter has been one of our better more consistent players in this dire overall period. Which means he has been bang average at best.

His problems are a crying shame for him personally, but the club is above any individual and will of course move on / has moved on.

Certain comments expressed on this thread by so called supporters really do prove that pond life has more intellect than a section of our fans. Embarrassing.

Cheers I've figured it out. I've jumped from Bladesmad because that place is going down shizer faster than the titanic and I can't use my oldscreen name on here.

It's not Aynell Creampie is it?

I respect that, I've seen what drugs can do to a youth and their families and I don't like it, please respect that.

But knowing that you still want him and his family to suffer........hypocritical and contradictory. I just don't get that.

No, he wants his family to suffer, his choice that causes consequences. If he stays clean good luck to him and his family, if he doesn't he deserves everything he gets and his family has my sympathy.

Maybe he has an addiction and can't control his actions. Addictions cloud peoples' judgement but it doesn't mean that they want to hurt other people, they just can't help themselves. But to wish harm on another person, regardless of their status is just wrong.

I'd rather a drunk driver wrap his car around a lamppost before he hits the school bus queue, my bad? As a role model to young people there's no excuse to repeatedly show them kids it billy big bollox to do drugs.

Plumbing new depths on a daily basis on here.

I thought we were talking about a professional footballer with a drug problem and you wanted him to come to harm?

Like all drug cheats setting bad examples to kids they deserve to be found in a pool of their own body fluids. Don't like my POV you know where the ignore button is

Don't need to ignore you - I'll just disagree with your sentiments as I don't hate anybody enough to want them to die.

If he's not doing it every day which I very much doubt then I don't consider him to be addicted. He's blown his 2nd chances, that's just stupid, hopefully before the next 5-8 years pass he will relise what a lucky position he's in and sort his head out with the support of his family and a new bunch of mates

No sympathy fuck him the waste of oxygen, at the moment he is only fucking his own life up but wait till he runs out of money for his fix then he will turn to mugging old ladies on pension day. The mugged old lady will end up in A&E laid on a trolley in the corridor for hours because the place is full of druggies tripping and police trying to keep order and protect the doctors and nurses. Don't believe me ask anyone who has been rushed to hospital late at night especially at the weekend A&E is like a lunatic asylum. All the druggies can take a bit too much for me, just a drain on society ................ kers

In this thread: A complete and utter lack of basic human empathy. Life comes before football, always.

Can't the fat scouse cunt do us a favour and say that them useless bastards Woolford, Freeman, Coutts and the Wallace pair of twAts were all drugged up to the fucking eyeballs with him?

Save us froM paying the fuckers off.

Last August on a Tuesday in Peterborough he wasn't half bad. Trim, keen and under the floodlights in that rickety stand he looked reinvented after his last ban.

A year on he's banned again.

Clearly he can't control it.

Loads of excuses can be offered but as the Lympstone training says 'Actions have consequences, consider as an adult your actions.'

Frankly, his choice. Make no excuses about his mates, his upbringing, the pressure of earning wads and all that it is his mind. Shame such a talent hasn't the maturity to use it...

A pint says he won't play for anyone above league 2 again..
