Some interesting points of view on here and I agree with many of them.
I think the overriding feeling is one of disappointment. That a bloke who the fans supported and sang his name were let down for the umpteenth time by the same lad, playing for our club. Basically doing something most of us could only dream of doing, and would give anything to be fortunate enough to do.
I have zero sympathy for him. I kind of understand the folk who develop addictions following despair and pain but even then struggle with the concept of educated (everyone is well informed of the risks associated with drink/drugs/tobacco these days) folk choosing to abuse some substance to "help" their problems.
But to be very well paid to be a professional sportsman, and then choose to do what he's done despite past warnings takes a special kind of fuck wit.
It may be down to his social background, but in my opinion it's just down to a selfish, immature and arrogant couldn't care less attitude. Couldn't care less of the consequences or who his actions impact upon.
He's a disgrace and an embarrassment, and as far as I am concerned deserves no more chances.
Life ban....and while we are at it the club should be repaid by the bastard for breach of his contract. I hope he enjoys his future career if he can find a job that is. Wonder where his mates will be when he's just Jose Baxter....washed up ex footballer who's delivering parcels on minimum wage.
