I'm reaching a bit here I admit, but honestly I just want to see more heart & desire in this team along with some physical presence. I think Basham could be worth a try in place of Fleck since Coulibaly is only considered for FA cup games.

Lad next to me said the same thing at half time.

I had this passing thought this morning

Norwood Doyle

Bash Berge

IN OM

Could be worth a punt

Best midfield by far in recent games was the one against Spurs
Disagree

Best back 5 by far plus Doyle had his game of the season - the other two midfield lads offered very little

Fair point but the midfield has a big bearing on how the defence play. There were no easy options out from the back yesterday, so the defence ended up hoofing it a lot. Against Spurs there were 2 options most of the time, at least until they tired. We also have to recognise that managers have done their homework on Norwood and know that stopping him has a massive impact on our creativity

Agree

I’m not against trying these lads but I honestly don’t think they’re the solution - two untried but willing athletic lads being relied on to turn our season around at the most pressurised time , may be too much to ask - but hey - wtf do I know

Bash can come on in midfield off the bench for 20 minutes but no way he's good enough to start in midfield. He wasn't in League 1 when he wasn't old! Lacks composure on the ball and lacks the fitness now to get up and back.

Chris Basham isn’t good enough to play centre half at the top of the championship any more, let alone midfield.
Was about to put the same.

If our answer to our lack of energy, mobility and agility in midfield is a CB who's been physically mismatched for 2 seasons at least, then we really are fucked

The midfield needs some fresh impetus for sure. But Bash is NOT the answer. Doyle, McAtee, Brooks, Coulibaly should be given that chance.

If the guy has lost the ability to play in a role he basically invented then how can he be expected to play in a more dynamic and hard running role where he's never been anything other than average at best ?
