took some really unfair stick did monty

Frank Lampard saying monty was one of his most difficult opponents - hey what does Frank know .

I know who I would have in the trenches with me - Monty and Bash at a heartbeat

Well done Bash - gives everything abs more

Played at least one game this century and have 250+ league appearances for us:

Nick Montgomery 349
Simon Tracey 332
Chris Basham 299 and counting
Billy Sharp 285 and counting
Paddy Kenny 278
Phil Jagielka 270
Michael Tonge 262

Are they league games only?

Mind if I share this on Twitter? Love out like this me

This one is puzzling me, different sources show 299 and 301.
It’s definitely 299.

I’ve seen different figures in different places. Soccerbases numbers were wrong on Basham for a couple of years, for example, though they’ve recently been corrected.

I’d have thought the club would have made a bigger deal of him reaching 300 games if it had already happened (I’d like to think so anyway)

Yeah I agree, they posted about his 300th in all comps last year. I'm puzzled purely because one of the sources I usually trust shows 301.

It seems to be the 2014/15 season which is different. 35 starts + 2 subs in some places, 37 + 2 in others.

35+2 is correct I think. The discrepancy may be the 2 playoff games, which are not counted as league appearances.

Ah of course, that makes sense.

I'm not sure I agree with it though, it never sat right when Huddersfield were claiming to be on a 40+ unbeaten run despite losing the playoffs!

Transfermarkt have the 2014/15 season down as 35 league starts, two league appearances off the bench plus two starts in the play-offs.

They've also got MGW and Brewster both being worth £8.1m!

Saw him in his first game, a preseason a fair few years back and he looked fucking dreadful. A real 'what the fuck have we signed, here?'

I can't praise the bloke enough these days. Those above will always have and deserve 'Blades Legend' status moreso him now. He has become a Bramall Lane fixture and an honorary Sheffielder.

Top bloke. Composed and professional. An example to all.

pommpey

Was the only one to come out of the Adkins season with any credit. The whole of the rest of them really deserved to go, including Billy. Quite a few games later until he made the RCB position his own, but him and JOC (and steady Jake Wright to be fair) made our system unplayable to League one teams....

Just thought this one deserves a bump up to be honest......

Massive achievement for a fantastic servant to the club!!

Marked with a huge 3 points and a clean sheet! Lovely stuff.

A few glimpses of the bash we love tonight. Notably the run across the back line to intercept... a couple of touches, then cleared long... up the line and out of touch in the opposition half for a nothing throw in.

Guuuu won Bashy

I thought he was class again tonight. Was done twice by their forward but other than that was everything you want from one of your team. Calm, assured, athletic and at times he’s fucking really good on the ball. Doesn’t get the credit where it is due outside of the club.
He probably is - and rightly so - one of the first names on the team sheet even after 300 games.
A proper club legend.

Keep saying it and there was a moment in the first half tonight when I thought it might happen, but one day he'll go on one of those driving runs and smash it in the top bins from the edge of the box........ maybe on his 400th league appearance for us.
