Bash - Absolute Positively...

He does seem to be the only player showing any emotion right now, mainly one of shock and bewiderment as to what's happened to his team mates.

Just joining in on this evenings proceedings, slagging off every player in the squad and so on.

Chris Basham -Love the man.

He's given his all in all 3 games. He's been caught out positionally on occasion, but usually he has his pals Egan & O'Connell covering in behind if this happens. Tonight, no such luck.

Henderson, Basham & Baldock can hold their heads high from the opening 3 games. I don't think I can say that for anyone else though McGoldrick improved our possession play enormously tonight.

I disagree. He’s an absolute 100%er and an absolute diamond, a managers dream and a fans favourite. But he’s not the only one showing emotion. I think some others are too (in fact I know some others are, the ones you would expect). However we have to remember the situation we are in, and the situation the players have been in, and what that involves (COVID) contract wise.

The sad thing is that he was at fault for all 3 goals tonight. But i’d still take him over anybody else who was in the team tonight.

Not sure I share that view. First goal is a basic missed tackle by Norwood from the throw allowing Rashford to hit and hope - you could argue that Matial got in front of Bash but then that should not have been Bash’s man. It’s either Jags or Robinson. Then Moore seems to just dive out of the way instead of standing up to it. Wilder mentioned that missed tackle in his interview and you could see him asking questions of Moore during the first half drinks break.
The second goal was down to Enda (who has been a shadow of himself since the return) allowing wham bam to ghost past him with ease.
The third goal was a capitulation by Moore and made it a simple lift for Martial. Bash was in and around but all the goals had earlier key mistakes in them and two of them had poor goal keeping.

The only player to come out of the 3 games back with any credit.
I think he is the only one of our players who has gone on a run past opposition players, certainly in the Newcastle and Man Utd games anyway.
Deserves player of the year.

He has definitely been the shining light so far, Baldock also is giving it everything and looks increasingly perplexed at how the rest of the team are performing.

Was shockingly slow to react to the first two goals. But reality tells me he was up against a 100m player. Bash is and always will be a legend but was way out of his dept tonight felt for him without Egan JOC & Deano it was always going to be difficult

Martial got the better of him for every goal but he was our MOM tonight. That’s how bad we were.

Blaming Basham tonight is incredibly short sighted.

It's frankly laughable to blame him for the first goal as Neville did.

It wasn't his best game, but there were worse players on that pitch than Bash, atleast he always tries to give 100%, which must be hard when some only seem to want to give 30%!

His run down the right against Man U and crossed in a lovely fantastic ball straight across there 6 yard box a Billy Sharp would have been sliding that in the net, instead Zikovicovic or whatever his name is didnt keep up with play and was a yard behind.

Love Basham. The most unlikely player that has come on and made himself look a half decent PL player.

Anyone who wants to have a go at Basham can meet me in the car park for a fight!!

At an appropriate social distance of course...

I'd give Bash the armband and tell him he's allowed to kick any player not performing up the arse.

I don’t really get all this baby out with the bath water nonsense. We’ve lost two games. That’s all it is.

The objective this season was to stay up and they’ve done that easily. We’re now sad we’re missing a European place and looking forward to the cup quarter final on Sunday.

Bit of perspective.
