Poster on BladesMad has put up a quote from Wenger saying that recalling Bartley is a possibility (although he's concerned by his lack of PL experience) to bolster his squad.

Hmmmm... Didn't one of the recent fans forums establish there was no recall clause? The same question was asked of old Nozzer too.

Nozza's nearly fit and aren't we signing another Leeds reject at centre half anyway?

Absolutely not. Never. No way.

we 'did' remember to put in the recall clause this time didn't we Kev.. tell me we did.. what with collins arriving and all

I know there was definitely no recall clause in Nozzer's deal (more's the pity), but i don't know the same for Kyle.

If the Jones move is done, then that's 3 centre halves we've picked up this transfer window, so maybe Mickey has been planning for this one.

see offical site...Arsenal haven't recalled him,Adams has,in effect, agreed with Arsenal to send him back.

Dont see what the problem is. Far too wet behind the ears for what we need. He needs to be in a solid, organised and experianced back 4 to bring the best out of him. We cant afford to be a class room for other clubs youngsters at the moment.

I think in years to come, he'll be a decent defender but compare and contrast with Gaz Cahill's spell at the lane, and its clear that he's a long way to go before he's good enough to play for a team with aspirations of silverware like Arsenal.

meh.. it isn't about the player it is about the psychology.. the effect on morale of our best player (wet behind the ears or not) leaving will be massive.. it puts out a wider message to all of the fans.. it says get ready for relegation

Bartley out and Collins in, hardly exciting is it.

Smacks of deja vu, with our best player being recalled (only to be loaned out again) at the same stage last season.

Now we apporach 'fatal' February with another new defender and a differing back 4. I reall hope Adams knows what he is doing.

All eyes on Collins tonight.

That is the worry, If he does make a mistake it's going to get ugly if we lose sorry to say

From the O/S:

Micky Adams has to solve a centre-back problem ahead of tonight's home encounter with Leicester City.

The signing of Neill Collins was too late for him to be included whilst Chris Morgan remains a long term absentee and Nyron Nosworthy is still not recovered, leaving on loan Shane Lowry as the only recognised central defender. Johnny Ertl could deputise.

Stephen Jordan is unlikely to challenge for a place having had only one behind closed doors friendly behind him, but Michael Doyle is added to the squad after joining from Coventry City last week.

The funny thing is, they got rogered at the end of the last January transfer window with another alleged season long loan.
And allow it to happen again.
Ferkin' useless management.

You should be applauding Bartley's departure, Len. Last season you were telling everybody who would listen that he was crap & would never make a footballer.

>Don't think Collins can play tonight
un.fucking. believable

It is unbelievable but it does actually improve our chances of winning Super, even if Ertl has to play.

I was looking forward to seeing him play so big shame for me. Will have to make do with laughing at Monty and Doyle being totally overrun by Leicester midfield.

heh.. gallows humour.. they still won't believe us though

I'm not that fussed he's gone and clearly our defensive record speaks for itself.
It's what's come in instead that's the problem.
Even then, that's not really the issue.
The malaise at our club runs far, far deeper.

the point of this discussion is about bartley being 'allowed to leave at this moment in time'.. not whether he is a good player.. some of you don't get it do you?.. it's appalling management.. if they knew he was leaving they should have signed collins earlier.. if this was a plc the management would have been fired by now.

I thought we were a PLC, anyhow McCabe has just chucked out some Directors, and set some more on, where do you think Mubarak got the idea from ?
