To be fair, we need something to control the Charlton fans given their fearsome reputation. They are not always well behaved like us.....

That would be the game the coppers allowed pig fans to wade into women & kids in the chippy queue behind the Kop...and then they protected the said pig fans when some of our "lads" went after them.

The barriers were useless. And as you say, totally over the top...not expecting any trouble at all.

That was entirely my experience of them too. Utterly pointless.

Whatever happened to two opposing sets of fans having a few beers and a bit of banter together ? I know it is a high profile game but ffs SYP this is way over the top, as far as I'm aware we have no history of trouble at all with Charlton both here and in London. I could understand it if we were playing the pigs or the scum up the M1.

I think they're a great idea. Those Charlton fans are always causing problems.... One even made a naughty comment about the Jess Ennis (stand) on here

Serious note though... I think these are being installed around pitch to prevent pitch invasions by badly dressed knobheads... You can't see the pitch, minor issue.

Perhaps the police should actually do the job they're paid for instead of wasting your tax money!
