In previous seasons the standard was so weak the top team could achieve around 90 points.
This season (unlike previous seasons) even the bottom teams are usually tough to beat.

What makes you say that? In previous seasons the top teams were so good that they could achieve an average of 2 points a game.
This season (unlike previous seasons) even the bottom teams are shit so everyone is taking points off each other.
