The Blades U14 girls, including my daughter, are doing their duty on Saturday, some great young footballers amongst them. They will try to do a great job, but cut them some slack please, they aren't used to doing it.
I trust they've been coached on the difference in speed in returning the ball according to whether the score is 1-0 or 0-1.;)

Yes, they have.

As some of you who are interested might know, the ladies & girls are now officially part of the club, that's a big positive. It has cost the club a pittance compared to the likes of Man City who have really gone for it, because our club took over a very well established set up. We are streets ahead of others in our region, a lot of this was down to Jim Phipps who quietly pushed this sort of community involvement, and persuaded the prince of the value of it. Something to feel proud of for any Blade who has a daughter.

Not just those with daughters but any fan to be proud of, but I echo your sentiments.

I've always wondered why we didn't have a female team so it's great to see the club pushing this and making us a more inclusive football club all round.

Very pleased to hear that, the more the club connects with the community the better, IMO. And well done Jim.

It gets mentioned in the (three pounds, yer match day) programme quite heavily, but needs wider publicity. The ladies will be in the WSL within 5 years. The younger girls all feel part of the club, they are usually waving the banners around the centre circle as the teams come out, and occasionally get to be ball girls. Also, big kudos to Billy Sharp who regularly gives up his spare time to come along to their coaching sessions - the only player who does.

Our lass's aunty is Simon Bullass's other half, hes chairman of the ladies. Nice bloke.

sad when jim phipps because he did alot of great things at the club, was very enthusiastic & only wanted the best for us. but unfortunately left because of idiot minority on twitter

What if she turns around and say's well mine is a natural 1 what's your excuse, tongue well planted in cheek btw ;)

I'd flatten her.

Gone are the days you could scream obscenities and kick the shit out of small girls...

Bloody political correctness.

On the job training sometimes from the bench.

Leave it. LEAVE IT!

I enjoy reading reports of the under-23 and academy games on here, but have not been aware of any reports on the ladies team. I am sure quite a few of us would be interested to read reports/updates on progress, if anyone is willing to take on the task. Increasing awareness is a long-term project, and this could make a small contribution. Might even civilise us a bit as well...

Well I logged in just to give you a like but stayed to give one for Jim Phipps and Billy Sharp too, well done guys!

Thanks, Nick.

Disagree with that he should have kept away from Twitter and Facebook- we all took the piss out of the Pigs when Strappon was doing it.
