That’s what I mean mate. Duffy only had one cross yesterday from a similar position and he dinked it to create a headed chance for Stevens. I like Guddy but he needs to vary his crosses.

He was very poor again for me yesterday. On the rare occasion he doesn’t go backwards, it’s blocked by the first man or overhit.

There was one overhit first half when we were queing up. No composure unfortunately. Its no good having pace and getting in good positions if you waste it every time.

0 assists all season to add to his 1 all of last season. Vs 4 assists for Freeman this season. Easy choice if we want to create down the right for me.

Yesterday he had three or more opportunities to motor onto a forward ball on the SS side and get round the full back and cross it. He didn't. He just stopped and played it to Duffy/Bash/Crainie/Fleck. Has he been told to do this because if so whoever told him needs a slap. If not maybe he lacks confidence in his ability to cross on the run. In bloody furiating, but prefer him to Freeman for his engine and speed of recovery.

Interesting that the Rotherham manager played Taylor on the other side when he saw what he was up against in Baldock. Taylor was the kid who gave Freeman nightmares in the away game vs Rotherham.

Baldock gives us a bit more drive than Freeman. And I think is a better defender. But we know that Freeman is much better in the final third. So it's a awkward one. Maybe play Freeman at home? Baldock away? I'm sure it's one of the things there getting Baldock to work on. Although it doesn't seem to be any better!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Freeman start tomorrow with Baldock saved for Leeds.

Baldock got a knock on Saturday, and we badly need him available for Leeds so it would make sense to protect him.

Vary crosses? Never. In S2 we like to Gerritinearly. Our manager says that’s noise and nonsense but we pretend he hasn’t said it. Fortunately for proper football and uncomfortable truth, I’ve got the original recordings.

I agree with your point about the crossing....but for me he is a quality player....reliable, fast and a committed team player.

George is a good player. I’m not knocking his overall play just his crossing into the box. It was meant as constructive criticism.

But I think in the midst of the disappointment of Saturday we probably haven’t given enough attention to the excellent assist (his first of the season) that Baldock delivered for Hogan’s goal. Drove to the line, clipped it back to the far post and all Hogan had to do was get something on it.

Encouraging stuff, and hopefully the first sign of many that he can improve this part of his game.
