Correct. That was last year. This year he has been replaced.
Been replaced? By who? You can’t replace players like that, Heckingbottom even said you can’t, he said we’ll have to adapt how we play because he was instrumental into how he wanted to play. Yes, our manager said that!

Surely, SURELY fucking not
Who’s Shirley?

Djed Spence would be obs replacement but 1. Attitude and his Billy big Bollox when he did nowt but bragged back at Florest 2. Spurs would want to get £20m back and fact he’s not broken through at PL level says he’s not up to it. He’s a Leeds sort of player

That Ndiaye comment is one of the more ridiculous things I've seen. He was the best player in rhe division and without him the club is likely a struggling Championship team playing U21s
I know how important he was last season. But all players are replaceable and we were NOT a one man team, that’s actually an insult to the rest of the SQUAD that got us promoted. Did the likes of Anel, Macatee & Wes not play a huge part?

But I understand that you like to catastrophise everything that might or might not happen, and that’s fine. Ridiculous, but each to their own.

Last year’s squad has been replaced by this year’s squad. It is a squad game and not all about one player.

But if you want to dwell on what was rather than crack on with what is, fill your boots.

You can make personal digs as much as you like. Your comment on Ndiaye's importance being overstated is absolutely ridiculous. And your "what about this player and this player" is pure Strawman nonsense.

Without Ndiaye, there's no Premier League. Archer AND Hamer are a fair effort at trying to replace everything he did for the team. Individually, Hamer us afantastic player but notat Ndiaye's level. Archer isn't even in the conversation (yet, he could obviously improve)

Unless Georgey boy asks for us to allow the move, which is a right he has earned multiple times over with his efforts to the cause, then this should be an instant no. It should be followed up with a healthy new deal also. By far and a way my favourite player from this current era we are in.

I think you’ll find that you started with the digs, so you’re fair game for some back.

Without Anel there would have been no PL. Without Macatee there would have been no PL. Ndiaye didn’t single handedly drag us there.

Have you had a look at the respective stats of Ndiaye & Archer for minutes played in the Championship last season? Who had the most end product?

My opinion is that Hamer will be at least as important to the team this season than Ndiaye was last. I don’t care whether or not you agree.

You ignore what I’ve said and what our manager has said, makes no difference to me, if I think someone is speaking a bit of bollocks then I’ll say something and I’d hope for similar from yourself, all I’ll say is you’re digging an hole for yourself on this one at the minute and I hope you spot it before we end up in the French tunnel.

It's one thing receiving £15m to find a replacement but only £2-3m is hardly anything to find a Prem ready option.

Baldock can't cross a ball to save his life but is 100% committed and alongside Egan is the best defender in the squad. I'd be amazed if he agitated for a move - would AEK offer more in salary than Utd? I wouldn't have thought so.

I said you'd made a ridiculous comment. I made no reference to your character. You just wanted to get a dig in.

Yes, I've looked at all their stats and compared them. Ndiaye was better at everything, conclusively. But especially, chance creation, dribbling, winning the ball back, passing. You know, football.

Archer outperformed his xG significantly. But he's definitely got the potential to be a good player.

I'm glad you don't care. I wouldn't want you to have to look back on this frankly ridiculous take too often.

I’ve not ignored it, I’ve offered a different perspective.

There are a lot of people on here whose opinions I value, but nobody who has so far replied to me on this thread. So I’ll stick with my opinion, thanks.

Bogle is one of the least reliable players in the squad injury wise - we’d be mental to sell Baldock

There would be no way we could replace him to the same standard

It’s also noted you don’t listen to our manager either, the bloke who worked with N’diaye every day. The outlandish statement you made at the start was bonkers and you know it. You’ve tried to side track it and I admire you for that. 😁

He's the leader of this team and one of only 2/3 guys that I'm 100% certain are up to task in the PL.
Pretty sure we have a 1 year option on his deal which expires in June 2024 so hopefully this mitigates the risk of a sale.

However, if we are going to sell (and we may well do) I hope the club learns from the Ndiaye shambles and get their replacement deal done first.
Not up to the task all the time on Sunday !

He’ll ignore what he can’t positively counteract. It’s what they do.

Anyone considered that he may consider a decent climate, respectable money and a you know what thought, I'm 30 well set up for life and this is just the move that suits me at this time, albeit I'll miss my mates and all things SUFC.

Its not happening.

But if you wanted to make a case for it. You sell Baldock and replace him with Ben Johnson from West Ham. Ben Johnson is an England U21 RB and under a 4 year contract would be more valuable on the books than Baldock due to his age and potential - which would contribute to whatever value the Prince is looking to sell the club for. Johnson is refusing to sign a new contract at West Ham and is expected to leave by the end of the window to a top tier Championship club or a team at the bottom of the PL. He has also played LB on occasion and we need cover in that position.

Still don't want or expect that to happen, but this is the only scenario I could come up with that comes close to making sense.

Ok, now I’ve finished my tea & I’m no longer hangry I’ll try it a different way.

Ndiaye is a brilliant player and I loved watching him. I’ll never forget some of the highlights from last season. He was also hugely important to our promotion, but not the only reason for it. He made a huge difference but we wouldn’t have got over the line without a few of the others.

I wish he was still our player but he isn’t. He’s at Marseille. Not at one of the biggest clubs because none of them came in for him, even though he would have cost them relatively spare change. As far as we know, only Everton did. I think others might have been “monitoring him” but didn’t make a move. There are reasons for that. Against England in the World Cup and City at Wembley he looked bang average. I think he could become an elite player in time but he’s nowhere near it yet. He is exhilarating to watch but sometimes his decision making was poor. I think that’s the thing that he needs to improve to go higher.

Anyway, he’s gone now and I wish him all the best in the world (he’s actually a friend of my daughters, and there is a particular incident that happened on a night out in town that I will be eternally grateful to him & Femi Seriki for).

So all I’m bothered about is this season, and my opinion is that by the time the transfer window closes our squad will be far stronger than it was last season, Ndiaye or no Ndiaye. I wish he was still a part of it, but in the grand scheme of things I don’t think it will matter so much. And there’s nothing we can do about it anyway.
