Six months ago, I would have thought that should have had a smiley after it.

So in conclusion over half the people on this forum don't know what they're talking about.

HH - for your info we haven't won a league game since 27th December 2012 - we have not won four on the bounce all season - we are playing dire football - our defence is like a sieve, our attack is as potent as a blancmange and our midfield is non existant - our manager is on another planet!

As for Betfairs' 16/1 offer do yourself a favour keep your wallet firmly closed - not a hope in hell!

My prediction of four wins on the bounce seems to have come true. :) (refer post 19)

I am quite happy to be wrong but we had been found out. Insipid performances and poor team selections were the main reasons for that.

Fortunately, both have been addressed in the three weeks since your survey.

Oh, and being smug is never a great characteristic PeterNdlovu081

Yep, you're right. All of us who said we desperately need a decent striker, a winger and competition for Doyle and KMac in midfield quick because we're going to get found out and lose games were wrong.

I mean, we did lose games. Then signed a winger/forward, another forward and competition for Doyle and KMac. And then started winning.

But we were all wrong :)

Take your crown, you're the king of wrong :)

Who were these people we signed?

Glad I dipped my bread when I did. Although, there is still a lot of work to do.

The big game coming up, is Bournemouth away. A six pointer for sure.

HH

As mentioned elsewhere, I did a bit of dipping myself at 10s after Shrewsbury and again at 8s before Colchester. As the advert says, do I cash out now or let it ride

Part of the problem is that the players think they are far better than they actually are ! subsequently they don't think they have to put in the effort they think they just have to go out onto the pitch and the other team will give up!
Add that to a manager who doesn't appear to have a clue of what to do when the going gets tough - same owd same owd - ask Hartlepool, Swindon, Bristol City and MK Dons!!
The icing on the cake is that when we are in a position to challenge for automatic promotion and having lost through injury for the rest of the season the only bright light in attack , Miller,McCabe sells our top scorer Blackman.
The club is riddled with backsliders, big time charlies and has beens - managed by a man out of his depth and the club owner/ chairman couldn't give a sh!t and wants to recoup all his money by either pocketing transfer money, Tevez money, Hotels, Ground........................the list goes on Found out - you bet weve been found out!
you missed out barnsley (seems you can only see negatives) he took swindon from 19th to a play off on peanuts then had the team sold from under him, he walked out
weve had to adjust after Ched cost us promotion , selling was a neccesity, incomings were far below outgoings, hes worked wonders to put us top as we enter March, but you keep seeing nothing but negatives, and yes Miller looked promising but only played 15 games , at least wait till Murphy has played 15

Bit of a presumption that. Even if someone is wrong on a particular issue it doesn't mean that they don't know what they're talking about.

I didn't vote on this but we had been found out, no question. A slight change in tactics and the introduction of new players has made us less predictable. We have a lot more balance in midfield now and more movement up top. Our bad run was down to our inability (at the time) to do certain things and other teams had realised those weaknesses. However, like all good teams we stepped back, regrouped and had a look at what we can do to raise our standards again. Good on Danny and the boys.

Spot on. The balance of the team is right at the moment and teams have more to worry about than they did 6 weeks ago. The biggest danger now is ourselves and keeping the team fit. Whilst we are better positioned to cope with one or two injuries, the loss of two or three key players could de-rail us again.

I don't think it's a case of being found out or a bad run... I just have to say we are just lucky to be where we are right now and just have to admit we are a bad team

We're not a "bad team" but neither are we a "good team" - we are a club in a lower league with an average set of players so what else can we expect?

We were found out last night. Didn't make the keeper make a save until about 85 mins

hardly found out , just frustrated, it happens , winning every game rarely happens , losing Murphy was a set back and teams come to stop us , and some will, but its now 362 minutes since we conceded a goal, and 13 points from 15 , we do that twice more and we are up

Ooooops should have waited until the Orient result was in before posting that :D:D:D

Last night's draw doesn't change the fact we won four in a row and are obviously not the mid table outfit many people were making us out to be.

And that doesn't change the fact that previous to those four wins we went five games without a win :D what is worrying is how we struggle to break a team down as soon as Murphy and Forte aren't available, this could go on for a few weeks ................ Cresswell is certainly not the answer. Plenty have said where we finish will depend on injuries to our players and that seems to be holding good.

What a load of bollocks! Er has the season already finished? Have I missed something?

Nope the final league table will determine the bad run/found outs.

Given United's 'nailed on capability of failing to exploit an advantage' (e.g. 1 point clear and playing Orient at home resulting in a lucky 0-0 draw) I would keep stum for the time being if I were you or else you will look a prize twat if we suddenly plummet down the league.

I was hoping for a conversion on the road to Dronfield (Damascus being a tad tricky at the moment) with 4 wins on the bounce but true to form we act like prats when we should be pushing on. However most of the others are equally self destruct material at the moment so anything could happen. Can Hartlepool still get in the play-offs?

You've obviously not understood the thread at all.

I suggest you go back and read the OP.

A lot of it seems to be in the players' heads, as Danny sort of suggested with his comment about the fans. We seem to have a different mentality at home and the safest thing is to play it safe and play the way they do away. This suits teams who come to defend and hit us on the break.

Again, we lost a player who seemed to be finding his feet at the wrong time and we can only hope that Murphy's injury isn't that bad. Poleon looked promising on Tuesday but again, we're taking a chance on inexperience.

Three out of the next four are away which will probably suit us and we'll probably carry on the good form on Saturday but then we have MK Dons at home which is exactly the type of team we don't want to play at the Lane at the moment.

And of the final 8 matches, 5 are at home so that's 14 points. hmmmmm! Worrying

Orient certainly found us out didn't they

The problem with our home form is that our opposition approach the game very differently to when we play them away. We don't seem to know how to deal with it. In away games the smaller clubs fancy having a go at us so tend to focus on their own strengths leaving us space to play a bit of football and utilise our own strengths.

At BL it's a totally different challenge. Everyone who comes to our place tries to stifle us by deploying close man marking and trying to rush us off the ball. We need to learn to either play our game in tighter spaces or adapt our style to combat what they're doing. We can't be expected to simply dominate these teams. If they put together a good game plan and stick to it then we have to find a way around it.

Too True !
Same can be said when the so called weaker teams visit Old Trafford - yet Man Utd don't seem to have our problems because they can deal with it - we appear to be unable to combat teams when they have worked us out!
Poor Management, Poor Players take your pick!

Quite right but I guess that's an example of getting what you pay for. Man U can afford more skillful and adaptable players. On the flip side, we shouldn't need that quality of player in a much poorer division so depends how you view it.

To me it's an attitude thing. I take nothing away from the recent performances, we won four in a row and in those games we couldn't have asked for anymore. However it's not enough to simply then relax and turn up thinking the result will be a formality against Orient. We have to maintain the high standards we set and view it as our next challenge. If you slack off and become complacent in any league you will be punished.....the opposition may be poorer in lower division but the likelihood is that your own team will be as well. It's all relative.
