Yeah I jumped the gun with that one I was told he wasn’t being offered a deal then was told a day later he was so plans definitely changed. I was first to say Sharp hadn’t been offered a deal. Can’t say i’m overly excited about this one for the prem. the standard of the Swedish league is not that high compared to prem. probably champ/league1 level. I think it’s a lot to expect him to make any impact next year. Weird signing. Hope i’m proven wrong.

You can only play against what's put in front of you. And to be 12 goals in 13 games certainly

Fwiw I think he is a better natural finisher than both Jebbo and Osula who often lack composure in front of goal

If we do bring in this lad (and any other player this summer), I sincerely hope that we will only be offering them a one year contract. That way we can add them to the rest of the squad who are all out if contract next summer. Just adds to the suspense, anxiety and general feeling of impending doom.

No argument from me on the comparison with standards of league but all players start somewhere and improve (or not) we apparently have interest from Dortmund, Juve and some prem clubs in Jebbo and he's mainly only played L1? I suppose it's all down to people thinking a player having the potential to crack on at a higher level

Highlight reel shows pace, power, very good feet and maybe most importantly he hits a lot of his goals first time. Suggests he's got strikers instinct. We'll need strikers who don't dither about next season.

If true, what’s not to like from his promo, cross between Ndiaye and Saka. Pace, tricky, not selfish in front of goal, defenders pile all over him, scores and we can buy him from the change we get from Ndiaye then sell him for £25 when we go down.

Would have loved this signing in the championship but maybe i’m being harsh as i was hoping the calibre of player we would be going for would be more ‘proven’.

Could be another coulibaly but cost 5m. The belgian league is a better standard than the swedish and that move has basically added nothing to the first 11.

I think it's fair to say that, even if we have more money than rumour suggests, we're not going to buying forward players of established PL quality. It's a pipedream to expect anything like that and frankly, for me, I'm much more intrigued to see what diamonds in the rough we can find and develop as opposed to bringing in bigger names for bigger fees on bigger wages.

With promotion to the PL, we've lost one of the best things about being a football fan - the hunt for promotion. This season, I'm looking for more things to be interested in than spending big to grab a chance of survival.

Yeh. I just ‘worry’ that we have a tight budget and 5m on potential when the standard in sweden is poor is a risky move. He has some exciting attributes though.

Hi Stegosaurus here,

If he joins us, I envision he will either be a good signing and net us 10 goals plus this season. Or he will flop and score zero. Saying that, he could be a middling player a bit like McBurnie--not an outstanding hit but not a massive waste of space either.

Can’t disagree with any of that. 5m is quite a big chunk of the supposedly 20m budget though. Just hoping they are thinking that money adds to the first team and he doesn’t become a coulibaly type player with 3 apperances next season and 25% of our budget gone.

I'm the opposite.
This is the one I'm most excited about.
He could ve completely out of his depth, but he could also be the next Henry.
He's a wildcard.
Holgate, O'Brien, Manning etc are all safer bets but while they won't flop they aren't going to tear the Prem a new one either.

Good way of looking at it. Henry might be a stretch

if he vaguely resembles a st maximan and has the impact of mousett (first season) in the prem then i will consider him a successful purchase.

Suppose I just like the excitement of the unknown, and Henry is 100% a stretch!!
Those highlights (I know, I know, they are youtube highlights) are just so impresse for a young man. Above all else its the bravery on the ball that gets me so confident in him being a success.
But, I'm wrong A LOT about our transfers. I just get swept up in the hype and excitement, so don't listen to me
